Please click the photo above to play the daily videoSunday opened on a proper sunny note, the kind of morning that seems to promise good things without actually committing to any of them out loud. Breakfast was leftover pasar malam from the night before, which is one of the underrated pleasures of a night market run — half the fun happens the following morning, reheated and somehow still better than it has any right to be.
Rounds started smooth and stayed that way, right up until the moment it looked like a clean exit was on the cards — at which point, with the sort of comic timing only a Sunday can manage, a referral came in just as the door was practically closing behind me. A brief scramble, nothing too taxing, and mercifully it didn't hold things up enough to threaten the rest of the day's plans. Managed to leave on time regardless, which felt like a small personal victory worth quietly noting.
The wedding was out in Jade Hill, Kajang — a clubhouse venue, nice enough, on the modest side as these things go, which had the knock-on effect of parking becoming its own small adventure. A fair bit of circling and creative interpretation of what constitutes a parking space before finally getting settled. The size of the venue suited the occasion rather well, though — intimate rather than sparse, the sort of do where you can actually hear the toasts without a microphone doing the heavy lifting.
Anita, meanwhile, had her own agenda running in parallel — catching up with friends from her UiTM days, the kind of reunion that needs no real excuse beyond the wedding providing a convenient reason for everyone to be in the same postcode at once. Old friendships have their own rhythm, picking back up mid-sentence as though no time had passed at all, which is roughly what happened.
The afternoon rolled on into tea at TWG with one of those same friends, a rather more genteel continuation of the day — proper tea, the kind of unhurried conversation that afternoon tea seems designed to encourage, everything slowing down a notch after the wedding's brisker pace.
By evening, the day had earned its wind-down, and we obliged early, settling in well before the night had any real ambitions of its own. Finally made proper headway on Silo — an episode down, the mystery inching forward, which felt like modest but genuine progress after a week of good intentions and insufficient energy.
Lights out with the satisfying sense of a weekend properly spent — not wasted, not overfilled, just well used. Monday's on the horizon again, as it always is, but for once it doesn't feel like something to brace against. Ready enough, which on a Sunday evening is usually all anyone can ask for.
