Liverpool were Robbed

It was almost a daylight robbery. Only the most blinked United supporter would have thought otherwise. Liverpool were by far the better team during the opening exchanges, but they made the cardinal sin of not scoring hen they were on top.

Typical of the such Liverpool- United tie, they would always be a key or pivotal moment. The usual ones being Vidic sending offs. There was the coming of age of Diego Forlan, Berbatov hattrick, and the revelation that Danny Murphy could play a bit of football.

This time around, it was Shelvey's red card. A foul on Jonny Evans, which should Evans instead who arrive late, it could have been him getting the marching order. It was luck. And luck side with United. Liverpool was on the ascendency until then. But they could not manage a breakthrough.

Then came the penalty. I wouldn't complain if Mark Halsey waved play on. It was not clear cut. Usually in similar instances, the decision would have gone with the home side. But not this time.

So, a couple of lucky breaks and the three points were ours. We have yet to play well this term in the league, but even then, should we had handles Fellaini better in the Everton game and mustered a win, we would have started the season with a perfect record. The other teams in the league must be cursing us at the moment ...... and that just be an understatement.

Nearing Kick-off

Stuck waiting for my food as the restaurant was packed with supporters from both United and Liverpool shouting the place down. The atmosphere was electric! I had been waiting for my take-out for a good half an hour now. It was just the sheer number of people here. Amazing.

I think they needed a bigger screen for the place. There was only a single one at the open ground. Loud music. Loud supporters. They were chanting from both sets of supporters. Great banter going on! And parking was a nightmare! Come on! I need the tale out quick ......

The Final

I have a couple of admissions and transfer waiting for beds, and while waiting, it was the FA Cup Final on the TV. Chelsea was playing Liverpool. And I had the whole of the Doctor's Lounge to myself, with its big 60 inch TV.

Eight years ago, the final was played between Manchester United and Millwall. Puan Anita was in labour for Idlan then, but as she was on epidural, she was actually watching the match with me in the labour ward. Surreal but through. Idlan held on overnight, when finally, Anita had to have a Caesarean.

Since then, I had always remembered the fact everytime the FA Cup Dinal was being played. I had to watch it by myself this year however. And compared to 8 years ago, the match was played a couple of weeks earlier than usual.

Pacepalm

Rushing back from the hospital, I missed the handshake that never was. Evra offered a handshake. Suarez pretended that Evra did not exist - by the way, Evra is black, of course he does not exist. Such a disgrace. No place for that in football.

The scene in the end - the Evra celebration - was also something which we could also do without. After all, the points were already been won, and made. We won on the day. And Evra could have shown a bit more class but toning down the celebration a wee bit. But in the grand scheme of things, he might have though, "why not?".

There was no doubt that United deserved the win. We played better and we were hungrier. The Suarez goal was there to add a bit of spice, but nothing more. Rooney certainly had taken his goals well.

We are top of the league for at least another 24 hours. Citeh would be playing tomorrow. Hopefully I would be able to catch the game tomorrow at the Doctor's Lounge. I would be on call tomorrow.

Liverpool .....

I had just finished reviewing my admission and was about to leave the hospital before I realised that I might as well get the tandoori from the shop by the hospital rather than having to stop for it halfway.

The excitement was definitely building for the big match this evening and I must say, I can't wait to hear how loud the boo would be every time Luis "everyone in the team call him a Negro" Suarez gets the ball. One hope he gets a kick or two on his big behind as well for good measure.

Here's hoping for a good game, and a good tandoori!
