Lose. Draw. Win?

Let's be honest, our draw for the start of the season had been more than generous. Swansea, followed by Sunderland last night with Burnley next. All three considered lesser team, for which dropping points would be criminal.

However, we managed to do hard work of the first couple of matches and it looked like a win against Burnley this weekend would do little to lift the mood.

Van Gaal had a record of starting slowly with his club sides. The same happened when he first took on the Barca and Bayern job. Notoriously slow start. Unfortunately, we started too well during our preseason US tour, lifting our hopes to almost unreasonable level. Time to go back to basics and support the team I guess.

Hopefully, by this time next week, we would've acquired a new number 7 in the form of Di Maria. That should at least give us the extra boost needed at the beginning of the season, and we shall push on from there.

Glory, glory Man United!

New Kid on the Block

Let's be honest. One don't normally expect to find chic cafe in Melawati. This being a rather middle-class, predominantly Muslim neighbourhood, people there tended to be conservative. The demography was also on the older side, mainly a place for the retiree. The neighbourhood had been around for more than 40 years, which explained it.

It was a surprise when we bumped into a newly opened branch of Espressolab when we went there the other day - and when we bumped into the food truck parked right in front of it.

Free wifi, decent ambiance, but the coffee was not really that great unfortunately. It may be our bad luck that the evening's brew just was not up to scratch. Or at least we hoped so. Still a nice place to hand around. Didn't sample the free wifi though as I had LTE.

The location was nice enough that I might be coming back for another look. The outlet did not offer much cooked food though from looking at the menu, unlike the branch at Great Eastern Mall.

Solemn Day

As Malaysia received the body of those who perished in #MH17, the day started solemnly. Just started my clinic but hardly anybody turned up yet. I guessed most of the patients were still glued to their TV at home. I have been peeking out of my door every so often to see the ceremony.

A sad day for Malaysia. And for my fellow Malaysian, welcome home ....

Mum's New Ride

Prior to Raya last month, my Mum-in-law received the delivery of her new car to replace the old Kelisa. Another Perodua, but this time a Viva. Just as nimble as the Kelisa, but bigger.

Personally I preferred the old Kelisa. Easier to manoeuvre and possibly better mileage per gallon. The maintenance and repairs were also very cheap and they hardly ever break down. Nice little car. But being almost 15 years-old made the car creaked everywhere. It was time to change.

One thing I noticed about this new car was the turning radius. It was so much easier to park the Kelisa before this. The air cond was also not as powerful as the Kelisa. But those were minor gripes.

Still a decent car for the price, although only time will tell if it is as durable as the old Kelisa ....

A Difficult Weekend

It had been a difficult weekend on a personal and professional level. I had been under the weather since Friday morning when I woke up with a headache and vertigo. The headache improved but not the vertigo. Took some medications and ended up being drowsy.

I then slept for about 18 hours on and off.

But the headache returned on Saturday morning. Went to sort my clinic out, but spent the whole afternoon with a patient of mine who I've been poking after for the past year.

It was tough.

I was back on call today and this morning had been hectic. Time to catch a breather and a quick lunch. Hopefully the rest of the calls would be OK. Luckily I have cancelled my clinic at Park City tomorrow morning. Therefore I could just concentrate on my admissions and my Day Care patients tomorrow.

Well, that was the idea.

The boys would also be starting school again on Tuesday. Anita would be packing this very moment, and we planned to move back to Gombak by tomorrow afternoon.

End of the holidays...‎
