Saturday Morning Blues

Saturday morning. Clinic. Heading down South from Monday. Really was a drag to get to the hospital this morning especially when I spent the evening in Gombak rather than the apartment. Although the traffic was light, it was that 30 minutes drive that pulled me down.

Not many patients in the ward but the clinic was still a full list. So far, I've only seen 4 patients. I suspect most of them would come after 11, meaning I could only leave after 1pm. That went my lunch again ...

The plan for the afternoon would be to head around Bukit Bintang, run some errands, visit the money changer for some currency before spending the later part of the afternoon at the apartment since I have to do some packing from there.

Will be at Mum's place tonight if she's around. Otherwise a quiet night in front of the TV. United playing at 11 pm tonight. So, there you go ...

Turkish Invasion

The main lobby at Pavilion was filled up with an exhibit last week. It was by the Turkish Tourism board, complete with cultural dances and artwork demonstration.

Despite being a work day, the place was filled with shoppers curious with what was on show. A belly dancing routine prior to that certainly had something to do with the number of crowd gathering.

In the 15 minutes I was at the lobby, I saw a glass blowing demonstration and well traditional painting done by artisans. They were also serving free Turkish coffee and ice cream.

Quite a well executed program I thought ....

Slowing Down

Should everything goes according to plan, we should be checking into our hotel in Singapore by this time next week. A welcomed break and everything so far had been put into place. Passport renewed and all.

My task this morning was to sort out the admissions during the weekend - and there were a few of those. The welcomed news was, there was no patient turning up to my clinic at Park City. That meant I could take my time and get breakfast for the boys and Puan Anita. I was at the apartment by 11, enjoying my brunch. Any thought of doing anything productive soon evaporated when I spent the next hour going through my iTunes playlist and pruning them …

Where are my A-Ha albums?Anita and the boys had to return to Gombak during lunch as the boys had their Quran class later in the evening. Afternoon clinic, and then more ward work. Hopefully I could get a good night sleep tonight - it had been interrupted with calls in the last couple of nights.

Sunday Walk

I was on call on Saturday and ended up finishing the post-take rounds at noon on Sunday. Missed a conference I was meant to attend that morning despite rushing to get things done. Got to the apartment just after noon, picked up the boys and Puan Anita and headed back to Gombak. Left the boys there with the maid, and Anita and I went out for a lunch date. We overate!

The actual programmeStill there were a number of visitors, and there was a wedding going on at the nearby Saloma BistroMight as well make use of the fair weather

With our tummy full, Anita decided to go for a walk. The sun was not to bright - in fact it was threatening to rain later in the afternoon. I read on the web that there was a festival at Matic, around 15 minutes walk from Suria KLCC where we had lunch. Off we went.

The place was deserted! Apparently the had a regional arts festival which opened at MATIC, but the actual weekend events were scattered at various venue around town. Sigh!

Trudging back to KLCCAlmost there ....That hit the spot! Big time!

We mingled around for a bit before strutting back to Suria. Time for a cold drink by the time we reached back …. Best to check out the event thoroughly before going. But then again some of the information was not forthcoming.

Xmas at Pavilion

Believe it or not, Malaysia has 4 of the top 15 biggest shopping mall in the World. And they were all around KL. Pavilion is not one of them, but it is the one I frequent most. Not sure it is a fact Malaysian should be proud about though ….

Anyhow, I plan to blog about Xmas decorations here, so bear with me.

The decorations for Pavilion is up. But again it was a bit of a let down compared to the number they pulled a few years back - the one with the fake snow by the main entrance. That was just enthralling. Maybe the economic downturn had hit them and they decided to scale down.

The obligatory Santa was there, sat under a huge Xmas tree. The main attractions was however was his helper - the elves mainly. Cute animatronic, a ferris wheel, and that was about it.

Can we trust this?

They have to start getting more original, not necessarily grand. So, I would be keen to see if Sunway Pyramid and 1Utama can top this one out …..
