The Final Games

At the hotel, we had only a single sports channel available in the room, Fox Sports. And for the final Premiership game of the season, it showed the Liverpool-Newcastle game live. I was sure they would cross live to the Man Citeh-West Ham match should there be any important development.

United was away at Southampton, showed on another channel which we couldn't get. It wasn't a particularly important match, but it would be the last in a series of four matches with Gigssy at the helm.

We still have a chance at clinching sixth, which would still meant no Champions League football for next season.

At the rate I was going, I would possibly fall asleep soon, through combination of overeating during dinner and the long journey earlier. No goals yet so far ...

Far From Perfect

No luck again as we arrived at Kuala Kangsar and checked into our room. We booked for a suite but Anita especially was mightily disappointed to find it at such a sorry state. She stayed here before and was happy with it.

Riverside Resort was now under a new management and the place appeared to have been transformed. There was even the obligatory name change to Safari Resort. Not an improvement I was afraid. But not to the level needing change of hotel - I didn't think we had an alternative here - like our Lumut trip. And there was no safari to boot.

So, no food at the hotel after lunch, the next plan of action would be to get some late lunch.

And not to mention the fact that we had to pay for the stay in advance, in cash with some key deposit on top of that. Put it diplomatically, we didn't come to Kuala Kangsar for the room ...

Pit Stop

A couple of hours down the journey, then my in-laws decided to have a stop at Tapah. They ended up having lunch, while we decided to have something lighter. And for the boys, it meant junk food!

Well stocked!Weather was sunny all the way, and there were hardly any traffic. Hopefully it continues to be smooth all the way to Kuala Kangsar. Another couple more hours I reckon.

Packing

Instead of packing, we spent the night sorting out the children's homework. They had a swimming event at school this morning, and as a result, they had Monday off. And Tuesday would be Hari Wesak, a public holiday anyway.

I took Monday off, so time to head out of town.

Kuala Kangsar here we come .... after we finished packing of course. In the meantime, time for my Sunday morning ward round ...

Mother's Days

Noticed the plural at the title. I'm blessed to have both set of parents still around, and for the weekend, that meant a couple of dinners. Friday, I took my Mum to Rebung in Bangsar. My Mum prefer Malay food. And earlier tonight - Saturday - we went to Corus Hotel. My Mum-in-law preferred Chinese food.

On both nights, we were caught in the rain. And the traffic was pretty bad as well.

The dinner at Rebung was nice, and the surprise was it was quite empty on the evening we went. As a result, the service was great. Food was pretty consistent as expected. Nothing special.

The dinner at Corus however was not that great. Not what I would call value for money. Luckily I wasn't the one picking up the tab. My brother-in-law did the honour.
