Happy Mother's Day

Mum's everywhere would be celebrating their own very special day this weekend. Anita got flowers from the boys this morning, with a promise of lunch if it was not for the fact that I had something lined up at the Faculty tomorrow afternoon. I would however be taking Anita out for lunch later.

As for my Mum, we have planned something else, maybe dinner tomorrow afternoon. I would leave that for my Sister to organise. LOL!

To all Mums, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.

All was up!

Finally, I managed to upload all the photos onto my SmugMug server and linked them all onto my blog. Took me quite a while but it was finally done. I couldn't do it earlier today since I was at work. And being away for about a week had really caused a backlog. For those visiting to see the upload, please ice on the "MSH Photographs" on the top row of the page. That would take you the list of slideshows. There would be instructions there on how to download the photographs. Remember, the photos are FREE.

Next week will be a packed one with the MMed Clinical exams taking place. At least UM was not hosting any - Part I would be in UKM and Part II in HUSM Kubang Kerian. Less work but still I would have to participate on the examiner side, as well as making sure that the thesis presentation went on according to plan. I also had a "Calibration Meeting" to attend to on Sunday. So can't make any big plans for the weekend then.

At the Clinic

Since returning from Kuching, Irfan has been having high temperature. Despite seeing our local GP - unfortunately Dr Lim has been away - his fever was still there. He had been coughing all night, but can't shake off his phlegm. He vomited a couple of times and this morning, I planned to take him to see his Paediatrician at Pantai.

Since arriving at Pantai, he has been running around non-stop. His fever came down. Typical. We were worried if he would get admitted like last time when he developed bronchitis. Hopefully a change of antibiotics should do it this time.

Longer than Expected

One of the things that irks me when it comes to photo editing was getting the colour balance right. I have done editing before when the batch came out with a tint. Unfortunately without a calibrated screen, you can easily get the colour wrong. Well, at least to me. Since this was the first time I have used my iMac for any sort of batch editing, I had to spend some extra time tweaking the colour. I think I was getting there until I notices this horrible cyan tint on the final jpg.

So, some of the colours had been reeked and I just left the system on to upload some of the photos up to my SmugMug account. I reckoned, I would have close to 400 photos in the end. Since I would be on leave still tomorrow, I should be able to upload all the photos by then, provided my broadband connection would behave itself. It should be ready by lunchtime if there was no distraction.

Some ole ole

From Sarawak, I brought back a boxful of terubuk masin, a delicacy from Kuching as well as some cookies and kek lapis. For it to stay fresh, I had to pass some of them to my Mum as soon as I reached KL. Since Monday was a public holiday, we went out for a family lunch. My sister, Julia brought Mum over to The Curve and we had lunch at Marche.

Julia initially stopped for a quick shop at IKEA, and despite reaching IKANO before 11.30, there was already a queue leading into the IKEA carpark. We decided to do the sensible thing and parked over at The Curve side. Plenty of spaces still available.

IKEA was packed. The cashier queue were easily ten layers deep and it was not even midday. The queue at the cafeteria was also ridiculously long, and the children were getting right grumpy. For lunch, we went for Marche instead, for a nice relaxing meal. I was a good boy and did not have any steak. I had some rosti and salad instead - well I'd better be after the sumptuous seafood dinners in Kuching.
