Easing Back In

The day had been kind. A quick ward round although the patient was really poorly, then a smooth clinic followed by a nice free lunch before heading for prayers. I was caught in a light shower on the way back, but luckily the heavy burst only came when I was already safe inside.

Another ward round afterwards plus a few referral before heading home.

Anita had been carrying a cough since returning from Penang and had been in bed all day. She wanted to go out for an early dinner when I returned, so we were just about done when I draftee this entry. It would be an early night though as I have to run an errand back to Gombak later. Will do that after the traffic lighten up a little.

Next would be going through the snaps from Penang. There would be plenty from the last count. That should keep me busy tonight.

Holiday Started

Since the weekend, the boys had been up to their old antics. They just sobbed all day, going to bed way past midnight and only getting up at lunch! Nightmare.

Then came the time to go out for dinner. They would come up with all sorts of excuses, mainly to stay at home to watch TV and playing with their video games. I tried enticing Idlan to go to Jump Street, but was worried that the place would either be too crowded or closed during these festivities. Another idea would be to have a drive to Putrajaya, but that was shot down as well!

Since both Anita and I were the outdoors type, dragging them out had been a challenge. And it looked like the trend would continue until they were back to school next week! Good luck to us!

Extended Weekend

A rather confusing morning when I first got up at 6. So quiet. It was Monday but it was a Public Holiday! Time for an extra hour in bed, and late start to the day!

We were still at the apartment, but with the boys schooling tomorrow, it meant that we had to do the packing already, a rather depressing exercise. We still have bare minimum at the apartment.

So, for this afternoon, we planned to see some light furniture for my study and maybe a side table or two for the TV and other stuff. Luckily, the apartment came with their built-in cabinet and a complete kitchen - although the dryer would need replacing. We just bought a TV for Idlan's room yesterday, and he seemed to be enjoying it.

The morning rounds was done. Time to get things sorted out for the rest of the day ....

Haze in an Empty City

https://www.flickr.com/photos/harisrahman/14587052618/

The City dwellers were still away. Might as well as overnight, the air quality plummeted. Visibility was down to less than 200m despite the City being almost devoid of its usual traffic.

Not a good idea for outdoor activities. At least that was what I told myself when I got up this morning and was too lazy to have my morning jog.

Now praying that it would rain, washing the haze particles away ....

Settling In

After moving into the apartment on Monday afternoon, only last night that we managed to get most of the stuff unpacked. We planned to stay here for the rest of the week, before returning to Gombak for Raya. Then we would go away for our Penang trip before returning to the apartment for another week or so, until the school holidays were over.

The boys had been up all night yesterday, and prying them out of their room was a nightmare. We went out for a spot of dinner last night at Pavilion, and that was after some shouting. I suspect Irfan especially had been up at this hour playing with his console. He was stirring when I left for work this morning.

I also planned to get my office in order. A bit of clerical stuffs to catch up here and there. It would be a night in tonight, unless Anita had a different idea.

The unit also needed some plumbing work. On Thursday, a water valve would be installed at our floor to reduce the water pressure. It had been causing a lot of leakage in the last year, and it was about time that the management do something about that. The main bathroom was still without hot water after the last bout of leak, and my maids bathroom also needed fixing. Hopefully all of that could be sorted out while we were in ...
