Planning to spend some quality time

We could have done the manager some service by reducing the amount of palpitations he is suffering - by the way, Sir Alex has a pacemaker implanted for fast heart rate. Instead we like to do it the old-school way, only securing the three points a couple of minutes from the death courtesy of Rooney. Unfortunately I did not catch a glimpse of the game since I did not wake up despite my alarm going off. Too tired I guess. I'm still waiting to catch up with some of the goals. Unfortunately the YouTube videos featuring the goals have been taken down.

As for today, I have to do a few chores, but with Anita instead of alone. We have decided to leave the kids at home with the mother-in-law and the maids. Planning to send some quality time, maybe catch a movie and lunch after things done. Wouldn't mind heading to IKEA as well to get some furniture. Looking forward to that.

Lousy end to a productive weekend

Yes, I am going to admit it. I am disappointed by last night's result. It seems that United lacks a certain something after Ronaldo left. It will take some time to get that back. maybe a season or two. One positive point is the effort of Valencia. He clearly showed that he is more than a squad player or a token edition to the team. Berbatov is also finding his feet although his languid style of play may not be a cup of tea to everybody.
The cake cutting at the MaxFamily gathering
The weekend started with sending Idlan off to music school on Friday evening. We then had diner at KLCC. I bought a new bag to replace my old Croc number which now have a loose strap. Then I prepared for my talk at Ampang Hospital on the Saturday morning. The talk was well received I thought, although it was a pity that I did not get the chance to spend more time with the audience during the small group discussion as I was take away for an interview. I also had to escape early as I had to give Idlan a lift.
The sketch ... need a frame nowAccording to Anita, there was a birthday party on Saturday afternoon. Instead she misread the invitation card. The party was on Sunday afternoon instead. We therefore had tea at the shopping mall. A place we only been for the first time, the AEON AU2. A decent place to have food as there were plenty of restaurant there. There is also a huge place to do groceries there. After tea, we walked around the place and came across a street sketch artist. Idlan had his sketch done there.
In the evening, I just had a quick rest while doing post-processing on the pics taken earlier. I went to bed quite early as I needed to do the rounds the next morning. I actually overslept and woke up at around 7.45. Managed to rush through and was in the ward by 8.45. The rounds was not that bad although there was some trouble accessing the blood results. UMMC upgraded their database over the weekend and most of the major systems were taken off line. We are talking about patients admissions, X-rays and lab results. I left the hospital just before midday and went straight to Low Yat.
I needed to buy a new headphones as the current one was already worn out. I decided to plump for the AKG earbuds. Still getting the hang of it since I am not used to earbuds. The trebles on the new phones were great but I think it lag bass punch. I wonder if that is because it did not fit snugly into my ears. I also bought a new 'Bluetooth' headset for my E71 since the batteries on the old one kept on losing its charge. By the time I reach home, it was already time to go out again. This time to attend the birthday party.
Chicky is in the house! The party was held at a branch of KFC there. The got the cakes and entertainment brought in, including the celebrated Chicky. Towards the end, we received a phone call from Anita's Mum that my brother-in-law just arrived from Moscow and has been having diarrhoea for the last five days after taking a meal there. Another couple of his friends were also down with it. He lost around 5 kg and was clearly dehydrated. I think he may need IV hydration and since he is a Petronas employee, he might as well make us of the Prince Court Medical Centre. You can read it from my PhotoBlogs that the place was really freaky. It was more of a hotel than a hospital, with carpeted floors in the rooms, designer toiletries, marbled front entrance, valet parking .... the works. He is spending his second night there for more tests but I imagine they will let him go tomorrow. Anita went to visit him during lunch today and just can't stop talking about the place. There was buffet at the main lobby, but Anita decided to go to the French restaurant instead. Awesome!
After everything settles, I went to pick up my tandoori chicken and donned my celebrated Veron top, getting ready for the big match. The evening went downhill after that ..... Oh the abuse I have to endure the whole day .....

Crowd building up for the big match!

As per the ritual, I am at NZ picking up my Tandoori and Mee Ladna. Unfortunately I didn't have time to have a shower yet after coming back from Prince Court, hence no Veron shirt. That will come later.

The parking at NZ tonight is full. Most of them are in United top. Kick-off in just over an hour. Enough time for shower and dinner before showtime.

Waiting for my Tandoori while watching Drogba just scoring a scorching goal

It's Saturday night and in a couple of hours ManYoo will play Bolton at home. It has been my ritual for a number of years now to get a Tandoori takeout in my 2001 Veron ManYoo top before every weekends game. I like to believe that is part of the reason why we win more often than lose.

Tonight is exception follwing the abysmal showing and a late saviour in the form of Ferdinand (of the Anton variety this time), we could've been undone. The perplexing tactical masterstroke of not even puttig Ryan Giggs on the bench on the fateful Sunderland game just goes to show how much we depend on the old guard. It was so worrying to see how many misplaced passes Scholsey played dying the 45 minutes he was on te field. I just pray that it was just a fluke, not a dip in form. The alternative would be either Carrick or Anderson. Both of them are out of form at the minute.

Oops! Aston Villa just scored an equiliser against Chelsea. Things are looking up! Will write after the match if I have Internet access.

Construction completed

Construction completed, originally uploaded by Haris Abdul Rahman.

What a football it was last night, and I finally got to bed just after 2, having to wake up after a couple fo hours for Sahur. United played Spurs and as I was settling down for some noodle and titbits, Spurs scored after 50 seconds. Oh dear!

But United actually passed their way back into the match superbly and were crafting chances. After a few misses, finally Giggsy stroked in the equaliser from a freekick. Before halftime, we were were leading with Anderson hitting the onion bag. The match took a turn when good old Scholesy ... did a Scholesy and was sent off. We held on though, and it was clear that Spurs will not win if they did not score within 5 minutes of the sending off allowing United to regroup. Rooney scored another later in the match with United the deserved victor. It was a good night all around.

Woke up this morning pretty early with one thing in my mind. I wanted to upgrade my photoblog and get it up and running. I purchased a new theme last night which I thought was appropriate for it, and I must say I was pretty pleased. Setting and lining the site up took some doing however but I think it ws well worth the time. Please visit it at harisphotoblog.com and see what you think. No, I have not yet had the time to go out shooting for a themed slideshow yet. Maybe I will do that in the coming holidays.

And talking about holidays, we will be heading to Sungai Petani for the second day of Hari Raya. We have already booked a couple of rooms at Kelab Cinta Sayang, and will probably be staying there for three nights. Should be a good break. Will be bringing the Wii of course. Will definitely be visiting the family in Penang as well.
