Puasa on Saturday

Agra 4 - The Taj Mahal, originally uploaded by Haris Abdul Rahman.

Did not have the best start to the day today. Woke up at 4.30 to check on the football scores. Sneaked upstairs and flipped through the channels. All the channels are showing Champion League Qualifiers though. So, switched on the modem, quick browse to football365.com. Ah? Burnley 1 ManYoo 0? I have woken up into a nightmare haven't I?

Went back to sleep, had to endure plenty of abuse from my ManYoo-hating friends the whole day. My wife was looking forward to the afternoon since her Baju Raya is already ready. What? Not even started Puasa yet, she has already picked up her Baju Raya? As for me, it has been a busy day, with plenty of paperworks and letters to do. Kept getting email notifications during the whole time about people commenting on ManYoo still! How can I get away? ARGH!

Argh! More patients in clinic on TwitpicTonight, the familiar face - the Penyimpan Mohor Besar Raja-Raja, a title as peculiar as his job description - made the announcement that the start of Ramadhan will be the day after tomorrow. Which reminds me to apply for the Hari Raya leaves tomorrow morning.

Photo Migration

The Croc at MidValley .... part of my Gallery

After sorting out almost 7500 pictures I accumulated over the years, I decided to migrate them into a vault in my SmugMug account. It has facility for presentation and even selling my stuffs. The galleries are certainly much neater then flickr.

The Champions League fever has certainly hit me hard. Can't stay still the whole day. Can't get much work done. I was about to leave to get some tandoori when I was writing this and my mate @palmdoc has his supply of Tiger Beer all stacked up. I am certainly in Veron shirt right now ......

The match will only start at 2.45 am. Don't think I will be able to sleep till then. For some reason I have a mixed feeling for this one. Certainly not much in the same way of resentment last year when we faced Chelski. The fact that bully boy Terry slipped like a old lady before bursting into tears like one while taking the pen, made my day .... hang on, make it my year! If we were to loose tonight, it will be certainly against a better team. Come on you Reds!

Going through the old photos

My son, Idlan will be turning 5 tomorrow, so I took today off to run errands and stuff. No party this time as we decided to have dinner outside with the flu going around in the house. We bought him a piano, that will be delivered later on this afternoon. Trying to hide it away will be a challenge. I told my wife to give up on trying to hide it away.

Manchester United v Real Madrid, Champions League Quarter Final 2003 (by Haris Abdul Rahman)

Since my MacBook Pro is running rather sluggishly in the last few months, I decided to clean up the drive and reinstall the OS. It's running smoothly so far. Backed up all the old pictures into a hard disk and stumbled across the old pics. I decided to migrate them a every so often into my flickr account. I thought I post these ones on today's entry.

Oh Shoot! I lost my copy of CS4. Have to go to Low Yatt later then .... hehehe!

Good Luck You All!

Tried both tops but we still got beat. Must be the Tandoori, or the lack of it!

The amount of abuse I have to endure for United losing last night was unbelievable. As usual, as a true Devil, I remain confident that we will wrap the league up soon. Chelsea lost last night, and so will Liverpool tonight. Hence at the of the day, everything remains status quo, except for the ascendency of Villa who will beat Liverpool tonight. All the fuss will be about nothing.

As I mentioned on my previous post, I have superstitious about a our recent winning run. On the weekend games (obviously I can't get any Tandoori at 4am in midweek), I will don my ManYoo 2001 long-sleeved replica with number 4 Veron on the back - look at the pics, certainly has been over worn - , then I will go out to my local Mamak stall and order Mee Ladna, ABC, Tandoori chicken and a couple of naan bread. Last weekend during the Pool game, my Veron shirt was in the washer - courtesy of my maid which Alan is certain is a Liverpool fan - and we got soundly beat. I wore the Ronaldo top instead plus the Tandoori. Conclusion, no can do.

Last night, got my Veron top, but due to one thing or the other, no Tandoori. I SMS Alan, and he reckoned it was a bad omen. The rest is history. Next league game will be in a couple of fortnight. Enough time for me to sort everything out, and for sure United will win!

Just finished packing for my trip to Ipoh. The kids are in the shower. Will be there until Tuesday with the kids on tow. For my Final Year students, it has been a pleasure teaching all of you, and I hope that we will make good Doctors out of you guys and gals. Stay calm, trust what you know. There will not be any trick question I am sure. Got to go!

ManYoo 1 - Liverpool 4, and my pre-game rituals proven right ... ish

Oh dear! Vidic really got spooked tonight. Turned into an ordinary defender by Torres who had an excellent week, a stormer in the midweek game against Madrid the other night. I am optimistic still about winning the League. It is the consistency that counts over a period of many month. It is not about just having a good week, and getting beat later by the likes of Middlesborough.

Not only that I am a football fanatic, I am also born superstitious. I always put on my right shoe before the left. Enters a room with my right foot. Always stepping into a vehicle with my right peg, hence Malaysia being a right-hand drive country prove tricky when I enter into the driver's seat. Recently Manchester United has had a good run. Winning all and sundry, not always in style, but winning none the less. I would like to think I have put in my contribution in the winning streak. Every weekend game since Xmas, I always go out to a Mamak joint near my place and buy myself Mee Ladna, tandoori chicken and naan bread. I then don my 2001 long-sleeved home kit, with the number 4 and name 'Veron' printed on the back. ManYoo won every game, van der Sar went on to break the British record etc etc.

I was going through the ritual again today. But shock horror! My red replica shirt is in the washer! Therefore, I wore my 2003 shirt with 7 Ronaldo instead! At least that would be worth half the luck. Oh no! It's definitely not working. Or as Randy Jackson said it best' "I'm not feeling it, dawg!". I supposed it is only a game, but I am sure the phrase, "Sports is not about the winning, but about the taking part" was coined by a loser. I suppose if we were going to mess up, let's do it well and proper. Take it with the chin up. There are other games to be won, and I can bet Liverpool will lose their next league match. Watch this space.

But first things first. Have to call Alex Ferguson and apologise on behalf of my maid for not washing my shirt in time for the match.
