Back to Tasik Perdana

We spent the afternoon at the park at Tasik Perdana. The weather was kind even though it had been threatening to rain for the couple of hours preceding. It held up, and the boys had their dose of playground for the week.

For a reason, the place was quite quite. Maybe because everybody was worried about the rain. That did not deter a few of the brides-to-be in their wedding dresses posing for the camera. I counted at least 5 couples.

We then had some tea and ice cream by the boathouse. A nice place although it was a shame that the boats had been out of commission for the last couple of years.

By the time we were about to leave, the heaven opened. just in time .....

Kid's E World

The boys were craving to go to the park but the weather was too hot and it was only 3 pm. We were at Mid Valley Gardens and we decided to give Kid's E-World on the top floor a go.

The place had been open since last year but we never got around to try it. Entrance fee was rather steep at RM50 per head, plus the boys had to pay for the socks. Parents get in free of course but you had to purchase socks if you were not wearing one.

A quick drinks while the boys were creating havocThey made it quite clearThe boys doing the plottingThe place was actually bigger than it looked from the outside and true to the amount you paid for entrance, the facilities there were very well maintained. The toilets were clean and children friendly. They also had a small cafe for snacks. Nice open space for the children to roam around but it would soon get too crowded as they had separate area for toddlers and older children.

Quite a decent area to sit inA quick chargeThe waiting area for parents were quite comfortable. The entrance fee was good for the whole day, so you could come in and out as many times as you wanted to. Handy! I was not sure if they had a drop in service but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

With such a high entrance fee, I couldn't help but to feel that the place should offer more. My kids enjoyed it however and that was the main thing. As long as I had a bean bag, I wouldn't be complaining either. Oh! And did I mention about the free wifi? Hehehe! Win!

I also taken a short video, uploaded to Youtube here.

Playground

I had some extra teaching session this afternoon after I was finished in Kelang. As soon as I reached home, Puan Anita asked me to take her out for some groceries. The boys wanted to go to IKANO to play at the indoor playground and have dinner there. Since Idlan had hardly had any lunch, we decided to do dinner first. So we went to Italiannes at The Curve.

I blogged about the Xmas decor at The Curve before, so there were nothing new to report. Dinner was nice, until I realised that Italiannes is more adept at starters and small snacks rather than main courses. The pizza and bruchetta were glorious, but alas, the main - I ordered salmon with pasta and Anita had some seafood pasta aglio olio. Forgettable.

The front door of ItalianniesThe starter - deliciousThe main course - not soAfter dinner, we went across to IKANO. Anita did her shopping while I took the kids to the playground. It was located on the top - second - floor, right next to the pet store. Over the years, the place have evolved. It used to only have a single inflatable giant slide. It has a couple now and it has been changed, so the boys won't get bored. There were also Playstation console is you feel like it. It wasn't that full late in the evening, so the boys got the place to themselves.

All spent after half an hour in the playgroundLooking forward to more activities this weekend, though I will be occupied with a few lectures and essays to do. I'll also likely to be busy updating the hematologiPPUM.com site. I might take them out on one of the afternoons as well but not sure where to yet.

Tasik Perdana Again

It has been a long week, hence a certain lack of update in my blog. Those who follow me on twitter will however remember about both my boys, Irfan and Idlan, so was Puan Anita being ill earlier in the week. Irfan got ill initially, then passing it on to Idlan. Idlan needed to go on antibiotics due to high fever. Alhamdulillah, both of them were fine now. Yesterday, they became restless at home. I decided to take them out in the park.

The park was currently undergoing renovation. The pathways were being dug and the tiles were replaced. New trees were planted and old ones were trimmed. It was a nice day, albeit cloudy. Nice for a walk in the park without being too warm. Due to the renovation as well, some of the car park spot were closed. We parked further down the road, an area unfamiliar to the kids. So walking up were rather exciting for them. Irfan wanted to see the herbal garden. But after a few snaps, the pull of the playground was a bit too much. He can’t resist no more.

We spent more than an hour there, until it started to darken out and drizzle. We managed to get into the car just in time. Next, it was time for early dinner. We set off for Japanese in KLCC. More on that later …….

A walk in the Park

There was a slight in change in weather lately. Yes, it rained a lot less in KL. During the last weekend, we took the opportunity to stroll out in the park in one of the late afternoons. The weather was nice and breezy, but unfortunately we didn't have the CRV with us, so we can't fit the bicycles to take along.

The troops arrivingThe playgroundNone the less, it was great fun. Idlan and Irfan started going crazy at the playground, stopping for sips of water when they ran out of gas. Our maids did a good job in trying to keep up with them. Puan Anita had given up earlier on. She just sat there with some ice cream and pickles. I was busy snapping away with my camera. Decided to take my SLR instead, with only a single prime lens - my favourite 50mm f1.4.

Irfan shooting awayThe ammunitionAs far as public playground goes, this is the cleanest in central KL. However it get pretty crowded most morning with the joggers an cyclist. I prefer here to Tasik Perdana as it tended to be less crowded. Parking can be a pain at either site during busy weekends, but access going in and out of the park is definitely better at Tasik Perdana. There were also more things to see over there should you decided to give the children playground a miss. The butterfly and bird parks were just close by, so was the Orchird Gardens.

Bubbles!Time to go home - Kemboja or frangipani, Puan Anita's favourite flower - after roses of course! We then sat for a picnic, while the two of them played with some bubbles. We bought one of those toy guns that blew away bubbles. It cost us RM5 each but they worked wonders. Much better than the much more expensive battery-operated ones. Spraying away, running around, They were too tired to catch a spot of sunset in the end. It was not too crowded either compared to the last time we visited it during the start of the school holidays.
