IKEA at Night

I never realized that IKEA was opened until 11 pm during weekends. we found out about it last night when we took a late stroll around The Curve. On the way out Puan Anita decided to see if they were still opened and they were.

We did not do any shopping though as we could imagine the queue would be long that late. The boys were getting tired as well. Anita wanted to see if there were any new furnitures as we would be on a hunt for the new apartment we were planning to move into next month.

Even at this hour, the place was still packed. The cafe was still filled up with shoppers. And this was at the start of the long Chinese New Year weekend. Imagine if it was a normal weekend when all the city dwellers were around. I can imagine it would be a hassle getting things done at that hour.

We had problem heading back to the car park though. At 10 pm sharp, the underground walkway from Ikano to The Curve we're closed. We had to go up the ground level and cross the road. Walk into the mall at the main entrance and make our way down to the car. A bit of a hassle if you were carrying your shopping ......

More Buddy Bears

As mentioned last weekend, during my walk at Pavilion, I spent some time taking close-up of the United Buddy Bear by the famous fountain. There we certainly plenty to discover as the effort were much more intricate up close.

At the end, I must say that my favorite was the Spanish one. It was pretty simple, mainly pattern of colorful tiles painted onto the bear. But they were colorful and ultimately joyful. That got my vote.

The African bears we not too bad either. Most of them depicted local arts and paintings. They also tended to be colorful with plenty of animal motif. The same cant be said about the European bears as they tended to be simple and bland. Oh well! Have a look and see what you think.

After a Month

Img_6712s
It had been exactly a month since I started using the new iteration I the iPhone, the 4S. So is there any difference from the 4?

There is definitely improvement in terms of the Internet speed - since I often use it for tethering - and of course the excellent camera that came with the 4S. Not just the bump up in resolutions. The aperture, optics and the sensors were actually much better and for the first time, I won't miss a camera if I left them at home. During a few I my outings, I just relied on the iPhone. The video capture was no bad either. But I tended to use the camera more for the still than video. The videos I captured so far had been excellent, but at 1080p, the size was huge. I tended to do the editing on the phone using i

How good is Siri? I must say, living in Malaysia, we would not be getting our money's worth. It was a luxury, not a necessity. In terms of processor speed, I did no notice much. This may be due to the fact that no many of the app utilise all the power.

Was it a worthwhile upgrade? Since I am an avid photographer, the 4S definitely got my vote. And I would upgrade jut for the camera alone. It was that much I an improvement.
