Pouring

It rained yesterday. And it rained again today. And it poured. And the rain was certainly welcomed.

I was on call yesterday and spent the morning busy sorting out the admissions and looking for test results. That didn't stop me from joining Anita for lunch at SDCC. Nice dim sum for the afternoon.

Just finished the afternoon round and a quick look outside, and everything was wet. Better start driving back home before the traffic build. An early night was definitely on the cards tonight.

Excruciating

I did everything I could. I followed all the ritual. But still we were soundly beaten. At home. To Liverpool. How painful was that. Not just the scoreline that was the worry, but the manner on which we surrendered did not bode well for the immediate future.

The scoreline actually did not reflect what actually happened on the field. I could see the players trying, but they lack a coherent tactic. Mata, Rooney and Van Persie kept occupying the same space, causing Mata to drop deep into Fellaini's territory to pick up possession. And that isolated Van Persie. He wasn't able to make any runs as the space between the Liverpool's midfield and back line was non-existant. Everything was compact and Gerrard and Henderson were able to pick the runners up easily and release their front two.

And in Sturridge and Suarez - and to a certain extend, Sterling - they really stretched our defense.

The penalties were fair except for the third - which resulted in Vidic's expulsion. They could've had a fourth a bit later but Clattenberg thought otherwise foe some reason. A let-off for us.

We just have to improve. We have an important midweek Champions League match, a must win. It would be our only chance to be in the Champions League draw for next season.

Losing that would pile more pressure on Moysey. And that might just be the final straw...‎

F1 Was Back

It wasn't often that I got the chance to sit in front of the TV to watch a Formula One race. It was a mixture of the races being monotonous, plus work issues and also time of day.

It was Australia this time, so there was no time zone issues. It started at 2 pm which was perfect. And this being the first race of the season, things were often. And the subject of questionable reliability dominated the day, to add spice to the proceeding.

It was an exciting race. Issues at the start with cars stuck on the grid. An unprecedented two warm-up laps. First corner incident. Retirements from the reigning champion. It was a gripping first few laps. But once the pattern set in, things started to get routine again.

But I must say that I was impressed with Ricciado. He had a good race, and the previous experience with Toro Rosso really showed. Great temperament. Although he finished second. Nice Rossberg had the best package and he clearly utilised it.

Next race would be in Sepang. Not enough to entice me to go, but I felt that some of the F1 mojo coming back. Which could only be a good thing. ‎

Happy Birthday Moez

Dina and Azmel Azmil had been married for many years and only last year, they had been blessed by a son. And it was worth the wait.

Moez is a lovely boy. And he turned one yesterday. We were at his party at a playgym at Great Eastern Mall. He was too young to join still, but he appeared excited.

Irfan didn't want to go, but Idlan did. The rest of the children who came were too young for him, so he stayed with us, charming the other mothers...

One thing I had to point out was the food. They were excellent. The mains may be generic, but the kueh were to die for! Those were mainly brought by Azmel's Azmil's Mum.

Are they doing the chicken dance?Idlan taking a breather and hung around with the clownBefore trying the balloon himself And this popiah was something elseDefinitely one of the better parties I attended for ages. ‎

The Sediments

Now I could understand where the eye irritation and tickle cough cane from. One look at my balcony explained what the haze was all about.

The balcony floor were covered with a layer of dust, sedimentation if you like. Fine little fleck of dust that would seep through everywhere that was exposed.

I had been carrying this irritating cough since last week and it had been getting worst the last couple of days. Not fun. And then there would be the small matter of mopping the balcony. I was sure my maid would have some fun with that.

In saying that, it rained last night and again early this evening. The haze was slowly improving with that. I could actually see some blue sky today. ‎
