What's That?

Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11:43AM It was a fine day a couple of days back. It was no more by the time I drove back home yesterday afternoon. This morning, things got from bad to worse. The haze was back. And it was back with a vengeance.
The visibility was down to 500 m from where I was sitting at my clinic. When I walk on the passageway between my hospital's two towers, I can see the haze seeping end at the other end. The whole place should be covered before the end of the day. I thought it would get worse.
I could smell it from inside my clinic room. I had a whiff of it even inside the ICU, and my ward. Imagine if you were stuck there, it would do your head in.
I have to drive across to HUKM later during lunch. There was a workshop there at 2, and hopefully I could settle everything in the ward before then. The question was, where to have lunch. Should I head there early and get something to eat there? Definitely wouldn't be dining in open air!

One needed to laugh. And I couldn't think of a bigger laugh today than what happened at KLIA. Specifically the bomoh at the departure lounge of the airport.
It was so funny, that even we as a nation had to put our hands up and just laugh. We just admit to the rest of the World that this still happen here. Smile and move the conversation along.
It had been a major meme, trending worldwide. Malaysia would again be known throughout the world for the wrong reason. But what to do....
At least it lightened the mood on an otherwise gloomy week. Still waiting to hear the news of #MH370. If had been five days now...
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 6:58PM Apparently plenty of people had problem with iOS 7. Personally, I didn't notice as much. Most of the problem seemed to be from legacy apps, which were not updated for the new OS.
Today, Apple announced an update to 7.1. The updating process was painless, 268MB if I wasn't mistaken. No issues and the new OS seemed to be similar to the last one. Or at east I didn't notice the difference.
Maybe I should give it a couple more days to see of there were any upgrades in performance. As long as it didn't kill any of my usual apps, I wouldn't be complaining ...
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 5:37PM Another milestone for Irfan. He has finished his muqaddam and is now reading the Quran. And as per tradition - something which we completely missed for Idlan - we have a doa and a small meal - usually in the form of pulut kuning.
Pulut kuning literally translate to "yellow glutinous rice", and it was just that. In full coronary stent-blocking glory!
Managed to escape early from work to get the transport organised. Puan Anita made sure of all the other stuffs were done. Pretty happy with the results. We had our usual caterer which my Mum used to order from to do the cooking. We also had pretzel from our friend added in.
Idlan finishing off the rest of the pretzelsPuan Anita was just doing the final packing before we take it across to the school.
The worry now was I thought we under-ordered. I might run the risk of not having any left for dinner ....
