Arrived at Gua Musang

Just arrives at Gua Musang after almost 5 hours on the road. A couple of long queue for minor accidents and the sheer number of cars contributed to the extended travel time. Weather was nice all the way. The boys playing their games and watching TV, not really playing up.

So, we stopped at the rest area about 5 km out from the old town. Conveniently located on the left side of the road as we were driving in, meaning that we didn't have to cross the road to get to the parking.

A very clean and well organised area, with ample space for prayers and resting. Food was rather limited in the sense that it was all Malay cooking, but it did the trick. We stopped for Zohor, but had to stop again at the old town since Irfan insisted on KFC. No issues.

The tow centre, time for KFCSo, we were bracing ourselves for a few more hours on the road now. Hopefully it wasn't as testing as the last few hours.

Time to Leave

So, it was time to load up abd head back South to the fair city of KL. The boys were supposed to be back at school today. So, they would definitely be back to class tomorrow. I was still on leave until Friday. Wouldn't mind a day chilling out tomorrow. Maybe catch the movie.

Packing went smoothly, although we departed at 10, later than planned. All filled up courtesy of hotel buffet. The hotel appeared empty, so there were hardly any queue checking out.

All packed upTraffic heavy leaving KB

We might have a pit stop at Gua Musang again. Praying for a smooth journey home.

After Dinner

Decided against dinner outside. We had some relatives coming to visit, and straight after that dinner by the lobby. The town seemed to be quiet tonight, making the decision easy.

Just had a hearty Chinese dinner. Not at the usual place we tended to go. Since the hotel was new, we thought of giving the restaurant at the lobby, called Jade a go.

Disappointed with the service, although the food was quite decent. Maybe they just need some experience to iron out service side of things.

I was full and rather than rush upstairs, we sat around chatting with the relatives. It looked like Irfan was getting restless. Don't think I could hang around here for too long ......

Back to the Hotel

After the Qurban was done for our part, we left for the hotel. My Dad and I were already starving by then. We went straight to the coffee house only to learn that the boys were yet to wake up!

Anita left the maid with them, and joined me for breakfast. She was hungry as well. The original plan was for them to have breakfast at one of the relative's house.

We would be returning to the Masjid for lunch. It would be part of the Qurban food which would be cooked. Better get the boys ready!

Qurban Ready

Early start as the prayers and Qurban would begin by about 8, and I had to go along with my father-in-law and uncles to the mosque and have a look at the cattle for Qurban later.

It seemed that all had been organised, in terms of cooks and other manpower. We didn't have to do much except to pay for their services.

It all started with the Raya PrayersPrayers done. Most of the folks went home to change.A quick discussion with my father-in-law before the ceremony begunTen cows - not all were ours - would be slaughtered later this morning. It was raining in the early hours but now the sun was out.

We were just done with the prayers and now waiting for the Imam to get things organised. Looked like the children on the kampung was already excited touting the cows. Good fun for them really.

The rounding up process beginThe children were told what to expect, so that there won't be any drama laterThe cows were then tied up and felledAnd the Qurban was doneFor the rest of my friends, colleagues and readers, Selamat Hari Raya Qurban.
