He Needs His Haircut

Idlan missed his monthly haircut by a couple of weeks with the events going on at home - Mum and Gramma being admitted into hospital and all. So, he definitely need a haircut as Irfan been telling him that one can hide their pencils into his hair!

So, off we went to the hairdresser, but his favourite cutter was away today - his Uncle Truno. He said OK to anyone else as long as they were male. Now. Should I be worried, or he still has plenty to learn about the ways of the world?

Haircut Time

It has been a good six weeks and surely a haircut were in order for the boys. The last time we went to the hair dressers, their stylist, Uncle Truno wasn't around. They had another lady doing the cutting and Irfan, and of course Puan Anita was not pleased.

We called ahead of time and today, Uncle Truno was free to do the cutting. Everyone went home happy .....

Didn't Make The Cut

We were rather disappointed today. The boys needed a haircut with the trip to Kota Bharu just around the corner. Anita called our friend who is their usual stylist - it was Anita's actually but he does the cutting for my boys as well - but he was on his day off.

Since there were hardly any other time, we headed out to the salon anyway. Instead of the regular stylist, we got a lady to cut the boys' hair. And boy, did we wish we'd come on another day.

It was too short on the sides and Irfan was traumatised with the machine that she used. By the end, he started crying - he never did this before. As for Idlan, he ended up with a bald patch on his left temple. And with a wedding and the Aqiqah next week .......... Let's just say that Anita was livid!

At the Hairdresser's

Upon arriving back home front Gohtong Jaya, Anita reminded me of another thing I missed before the school open for the boys cone Tuesday. They needed some serious haircut. The last time they had theirs, it was at Saw's in KLCC. They had since grew fond of the stylist they had there last. A very nice young man called Truno.

We were lucky that he was available when we turned up. He started working on Irfan first. That would take him at least half an hour. Idlan's hair was not as long. But by the time they had finished, I better start thinking of iftar. I would fancy a bit of Tandoori as there would be a football match tonight. United playing Citeh for the Charity Shield. I can assure you that come the kick-off whistle, there wouldn't be much charity on display!

On the way up to the salon, I bumped into an old friend from Shuffled Sheffield, Darman. It has been a decade since I met him. He has not changed much. He has now married his girlfriend and they had a couple of girls.

This entry was prepared and uploaded using the SquareSpace Android app I was beta testing.

Saw it Coming

After the nice roast lunch we had, having fueled up the boys with sugar up to the eyeballs with brownie dessert, we took them to the fourth floor of Suria for their haircuts. Saw was the destination, and the joint has recently been renovated and reopened. Yes, it was a tragic name for a hair saloon, especially if you just came out of the cinema watching Sweeney Todd, if you catch my drift.

Over the years, the stylist came and went. Three years ago, when Idlan was still a toddler, he had the same guy doing his hair every couple of months or so. Unfortunately the gentleman left. Since then, we just had the hair trimmed by who ever was available. Today, we had a new stylist, judging from what he did earlier, we might come again and request for him. For a Sunday, the place was relatively quiet. In terms of price to pay, it was surprisingly affordable. Myself personally, I always prefer the mamak. In fact, I had to go and have a cut today actually. I need a trim before traveling to London in a couple of days. Come to think of it, I would need to pack.
