Rainy Afternoon

It had been raining pretty much all afternoon and with the Smokehouse empty, we got the place to ourselves and the boys were having a field day. I was at the lounge enjoying the Internet - a ft one since I was the only one using it - while the boys were creating havoc by the bar.

The rain also meant that we had our afternoon tea and scones indoors rather than by the garden. With the cool mountain air and sweet smell of grass after the rain, one couldn't resist having a walk outside later.

We would be staying in for dinner tonight rather than going out. A nice chilly evening I hope.

Afternoon Drive

We ended up having lunch at Scott's restaurant. But the wait was ridiculously long. It took us an hour for our food to be ready. Luckily, the boys were chirpy and spent the whole time playing with their Nintendo. Anita was almost taking a nap at such the slow pace of the place. The weather was cool and things were easy going.

After finishing lunch, we dropped my in-laws at their room and went out for a drive. This time we stopped for miniature golf. It was situated at a new food court and appeared well maintained. We planned to have lunch there tomorrow, hoping that the crowd would be lighter compared to today.

It soon rained, and we rushed back to apartment. Now off for some scones ....

Waiting For Lunch

After the hearty breakfast this morning, we entires out to explore the town. Being Sunday, the place was full. Some cyclers, an maybe those from KL coming here for a day trip. The place was heaving.

Finally, it was time for lunch and we decided to go to Scott's Restaurant where the previous Manager at Smokehouse during our last stay is now managing there. The restaurant is under the same management with Smokehouse apparently.

It was still before noon and the restaurant is only open at 12. Time for a quick drink at Puncak Inn next door.

Day Off Tomorrow

I have decided to take a day off tomorrow while sorting out some personal matters, but I realised that there were plenty of things were still on my plate. But looking at the whole picture, I should take the day off since my other colleagues would be away next week, and I would be very busy then.

So, what shall I be doing then? Puan Anita wanted me to sort out my study at the apartment. I could do with a table and chair so that, rather than use the dining table to do my paper work, I should be using that instead. But, I don't really fancy going to IKEA during school holidays. We might end up going to VIVA Home Center instead then.

We could also go to watch "Avenger" instead. Hmm! Decisions. Decisions.

The SkyPark

Perched on the 57th floor of the Marina Bay Sands, the Sands SkyPark is a sight to behold. Majestic. That's probably the best way to describe it. It would cost SGD20 to get onto the Park, but it is free for those staying at the hotel. We certainly used the facility. Once to relax, the second to actually sample the pool. My boys actually enjoyed the dip on both occasion. They had a separate wading pool for children, and a main pool extending across the three tower.

The main pool was not that deep, but extend towards the end, elevated against the floor to give an illusion that one reaches the edge, hence the name Infiniti Pool. It was an experience with the Singapore skyscraper appearing over the edge. Sipping an ice tea by the pool really made the stay in Singapore worthwhile for that alone.

Some iced tea.As with anywhere in Singapore, things were well organized and clean. The SkyPark was no exception. Apart from the pool, there is a few jacuzzi and sauna units. There were also a couple of bars, a nightclub as well as restaurants and a chocolate bar. However, some of the restaurant we only for those at the executive floors.

No diving. The water was not that deep in the main pool.Idlan looking at the sunsetThe view fromm the side of the infiniti pool. No, it was not dangerous!Singapore sunset ....For visitors, there is also a separate observation deck to enjoy a panoramic view of the island.

On the last evening we were there, we stayed in the pool until after sunset, enjoying the sun rays creeping between a couple of towers on the horizon. Bliss.
