Village II Today

Buoyed by the 5 nil win last night, I woke up this morning with a new kind of optimism. The optimism grew upon learning that ManCiteh did a ManCiteh by being heated at Villa. I promised the boys to take them out as I was on call yesterday. I later found out that the KLPAC was holding their annual open day. If I learned about it earlier, I could've plan the day a bit differently. Anyhow, took the boys out I did.

Destination today was Bangsar as I was planning to do some shopping for the new home office. Unfortunately Czip Lee was closed on Suday, so I ended up just mingling with the boys at their play gym. Oh God, it was a full day.

Tired after two hours at the play area We brought our maid along this time, do she was the one doing the running with the boys in the play area. Anita did some shopping while I just walk around Bangsar. The play gym was located at the top floor of Village II. It was called Kiz Sports and Gym. There was an option of dropping the children in and the parents can get on with their shopping. We used it before but as there many children there today, we had our maid, Isma along.

Bangsar Village was as usual kitted up for the Chinese New Year festivities. They were pretty low key this time around, maybe reflecting the current economy. After almost an hour and a half in the gym, the boys wanted lunch, which we had at Citrus. We have never been there before, and I will write up on it on a later entry.

Irfan's Birthday Party

Suraiya enjoying her foodIt was a bit of a drama last night with taking Irfan to the Casualty and all. He was much better when he woke up this morning but with a slight temperature. But energy level was good. He was eager to attend his party. However the first order of business was a quick follow-up at the Gleneagles to see how he is.

Nice cutleryThe party was planned to start at 11, but we only managed to get to the Casualty at 9.45. Luckily we were able to finish everything by 10.30 and arrived at Bangsar Village 5 minutes before the party. Thanks God, the staffs at Fit For 2, where we had the party was efficient and everything was ready to go.

The cake was waitingWe did not invite many guests. Just the grandparents, aunties, uncles and first cousins. All 25 of us all together, enough to bring the place down. We arranged for the food and cakes to be at Fit For 2, followed by a trip across to the indoor playground and Kiz Sports. Unfortunately, a couple of the cousins were not well and can't join in at the playground. The ones that did however were ecstatic.

Running around with his light saberHowever, Irfan's mood was not very good through out. He still got the temperature and he was not keen to cut the cake. We therefore took the cake back home later and had that at home. The food for the kids at the arty was excellent and I ended nibbling most of them. The mini-pizza and macaroni was excellent. The hit however was root gala. I had chili corn carne, but since I had to buzz around, I ended up having them cold. Was not nice. The rest of the food was OK.

After hanging around at the gym, we finally left by 1.30. Irfan and Idlan enjoyed the light saber they had courtesy of Mami Julia. They were running around with it outside the gym, hitting each other! The slideshow of the event was uploaded here.

Fit For 2 Revisited

After finishing the basic syllabus at Pingu's English, we sent Irfan for weekend reading sessions for an hour every Saturday lunchtime. It was his idea. He loved the place so much. The reading sessions were practically a drop-in session. We usually use the time to do a bit of groceries or window shopping. Last Saturday, we took the time to have a walk at Bangsar Village. The place was certainly festive. Puan Anita had sore throat, so she did not feel like having lunch. After a quick bite, Idlan wanted to go for a run at the indoor playground over at Bangsar Village II. They had energy to burn, so I thought why not.

I was already full by then. The boys spent a good couple of hours running around. When they were done, Anita decided to have a some tea at Fit For 2.

The cozy interior of Fit For 2The indoor playground where the kids burnt their excess sugar across the corridor from the diner The yummy roti jala and curryWe visited there a few months ago, and the place has not lost its charm. It was cozy and warm. Most importantly, the menu is kid-friendly and wholesome! Anita had some root gala and the curry was gorgeous. The boys had some hot chocolate - with marshmallows of course and mini-pizzas. There was a yoga class going on in a studio next to the diner. In a small corner, there was a small play area for babies - my boys were too grown-up for the toys there - and a comfy sofa. There were magazines to browse and leaflets to read. Definitely for mummies!

After the delightful tea, we left for home. Puan Anita's flu got the better of her and she retired early that night. I did as well but woke up later to watch the football. Yes, United got beat by Villa! We got what we deserved!

Bangsar Outing

My nephew is due for admission again tomorrow for the planned op initially canceled on Wednesday. He was penciled in for the first on the list on Monday. We decided to take him out today.

Irfan and Idlan @ Fit for 2

When we sent Irfan to school last week, we noticed a Lego workshop in Bangsar Village. My nephew being an avid Lego fan was keen to attend, hence the visit today. With the father's day coming up in the next few weeks, Bangsar Village is running a father and son look-a-like contest. Anita obviously was interested, and we duly obliged.

While waiting for the Lego session to finish, we went to a cafe in Village II called 'Fit for 2". A neat chic little place, basically with emphasis on mothers and their babies. Not only that they have a decent selection of baby food, they also have activities such as yoga over there. The furniture are very neat, with a little corner for toddlers. The joint might be difficult to find if you are not familiar with Bangsar Village II. Get the lift to the top (third floor). Yes, the one with Celebrity Fitness. It is right on the opposite end, on top of MPH. Unfortunately right opposite is the Kiz Gym .... and that's where Idlan and Irfan was headed.

We finished things off with lunch at Madam Kwan.
