Time to Pack

Finally it has come to the time when one has to pack, both the shoppings and the memory, with plenty of pictures of course. Checking out would be at noon, and our pick-up to the Airport would be sometime around 7 pm - our flight would be at 10 pm. The program at EHA Conference would end by noon, where we would have lunch. So, I would have a good 5 hours in the afternoon of free time.

But the first order of the day was to pack. I woke up early as I drifted to sleep last night just after 10. So, I was glad to get out of bed by 5 this morning, only to really pick myself up after FaceTiming home. After saying good morning to the boys and Anita, and showing what would be in store for them when I reach home, I started packing. I realised then how much stuff I bought. Luckily my bag was big, with plenty of space to fill. The conference bag alone was rather big.

So, the plan today would be to check out after breakfast, head out to the Conference venue in my small sling bag - the conference bag was in the big one - then after lunch, I would be heading back into town, but this time to concentrate on photography. I plan just to take my iPhone 4 rather than the LX3, and would do some black and white street photography. I was running out of cash anyhow. Another day of adventure - before sleeping it off on the flight back home!

Oh dear! Just heard the news that it would be raining all day today in London. Oh, well!

Jet Lagged

Oh! Dear! It happened before and I think it was happening again now. I got one of those jet-lagged session where I was wide awake at the moment and it was 1 am London time, 8 am back home in Malaysia. One of the major drawback of being a morning person was, your natural rhythm was attuned to be hyper in the morning. I was suffering now.

What happened was, I got back to the hotel room at around 3.30 pm, took a shower and planned a nap for a couple of hours since we planned to go out to Covent Garden that evening. The next thing I knew, it was 1 am in the morning. And I was starving. Luckily I bought some food earlier from a corner shop nearby. Some biscuits and drinks. That tied me up overnight.

So, planning to get back to bed as I can't really be bothered to unpack yet. I would probably get up early for the hotel breakfast and head out to the Convention Center tonged myself registered. Today was the satellite symposium day, where the Pharmaceuticals would have sessions promoting their products. I'll probably stick for a few hours then head into town after lunch to sort out my shopping list!

Heading Back to KL

Finally arrived at KLIA. Managed to get the stuffs from my wife's cousin as planned. Just also found out that Irfan has been running high fever. He was complaining of a toothache since yesterday and from this morning been having runny nose. Maybe would have to take him to see the Doctors later.

The flight home was smooth. Had a long conversation with a colleague about things, making the journey pass by really fast. The was a big game coming up later this evening. United playing Arsenal away at the Emirates. Should be a compelling game if I manage to stay awake.

Full week ahead

Looks like it's going to be a monster week. It will be a three-day week for me, before catching an evening flight to Kuching on Wednesday after work. I will be involved in a series of talk there, starting with a the MaxFamily patient support group meet up on Thursday. It will be more of a Congress giving the opportunity for patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia to meet and share experiences of their problem among their peers with Haematologists in the background offering guidance.

Then there would be the small matter of the Malaysian Society of Harmatology Scientific Meeting taking place at the Pullman, starting on the Thursday. I will be involved in a couple of the symposium as well as meetings. I will also be the photographer for the event, something I had been doing in the last couple of years. That should be fun.

Maybe I would be able to complete the list of things to buy which I would no doubt get off Anita. She has a cousin who is working there at the moment. I'm sure there would be plenty of stuff to do and things to blog. Really looking forward to that. The flight home would be on Sunday afternoon. Monday would be the Labour Day holiday, and I have taken Tuesday and Wednesday off.

All packed

Shirts. Checked. Tickets. Checked. Passport. Checked. Laptop. Checked. Camera. Charged. I'm all set for tomorrow. Managed to get some Singapore Dollars exchanged earlier in KLCC as well.

I planned to have breakfast with Anita after sending the boys to school. I will have to be at KL Sentral by 10, likely checking in from there before taking the ERL as I often do. I should reach Singapore by 1, which leave me plenty of time to check in and read the documents before the meeting at 5. Now, shall I sleep or should I watch some movies?...
