Balloon Time

We headed out to Pavilion tonight for dinner. Idlan wanted to have fried rice at Yo Sushi!, and I needed to go to a bookstore. Took us a bit longer than expected due to the heavy traffic of people leaving KL for the school holidays. We finally reached Pavilion after one and a half hour.

The poster mentionedLife sizedAnxiously waiting for his turn - all strapped-up of courseUp he wentWith everybody looking onWebsite on the organiser's shortWhen we reached there, we noticed that there were plenty of balloon around. Then we read a notice, apparently there is a balloon art festival going on at the main foyer. Apart from the balloon sculpture, the main attraction was an indoor balloon ride. There is a big floating balloon - tethered of course with can lift a child. For a small fee - apparently you have to spend RM200 to be eligible for the ride, you can have your child harnessed on a chair strapped underneath the balloon, and being lifted up in the air. It can actually go quite high - around 10 meters. The child will obviously be strapped tight, complete with helmets in order to take the ride. A pretty nifty thing if the child can stomach it. As for Idlan - no way! There was also the usual clowns and balloon artists walking around entertaining the children. From the signs, the event started today and will go on until the 15th of this month - June.

Stay away from my handroll!Idlan amused with the way his dinner being preparedThen came time for dinner. Off we went to Yo Sushi. Learned the other day that it will be closed later this month. So, no more Yo for the boys then. No more fried rice there. After a nice dinner, we then had a stroll outside the center. There was a live jazz band playing by the fountain at the main entrance. Played sweet jazz rendition of popular songs. Awesome stuffs. After 10 minutes or so, the boys wanted some drinks, and as usual, Irfan wanted some ice latte from Starbucks. We went in, ordered some and the barista was surprised that Irfan did the ordering, “one ice latte please!”. The guy behind the counter asked, “are you sure?”. Yes, the boy’s a coffee-drinker, while Idlan loved English Breakfast tea. Spoilt!

Proper live music - Yeah!Coffee in hand, we left for the car park. Irfan took a good hour to calm down from the caffein, but did so and has already been fast asleep. Going through the snaps I took with the 7D, I can’t get the punch and snaps I usually have from the SLR since I realised I turned off the RAW capture - silly boy! Off to bed soon. Ward round beckons tomorrow morning.

Day Out at Pavilion

The cherry blossom tree outside Pavilion.I had to do the morning round today and by the time I got back home, the boys were keen to go out again. They both spent the morning doing arts and crafts. The whole of my working table was smeared with paint. Luckily there were water-soluble. Cleaning up was not a problem. To be honest, I was not really that keen to go out since I went to bed pretty late after watching the football match. Yes! Rooney bagged four goals against Hull last night and at least for a few days, we were top of the league again .... the place where we were meant to be ..... sweet!

Swans everywhere! At the main entrance coming in from Bukit BintangCute fake waterlilliesThe main lobby was completely transformedIt's Pavilion today. Idlan wanted some miso. Yo! Sushi it was. The place was kinda crowded when we got there. We had to wait for a table, which got Idlan a bit worked up. After lunch, we explored the Chinese New Year decor at the main lobby. The lobby was rightly transformed. It was very nice indeed. However, the main attraction I must say was the fake cherry blossom tree lining the walkway outside the building. They were simply stunning. I was sure it will look even more gorgeous at night with the lighting and all. I must take Puan Anita out one of these nights, just the two of us.

4photos for today

Irfan tenderly pouring the soysauce for me .... Bless!

Managed to arrive home early after sorting out all the formal stuff. Decided to take the boys out. Craving for some sushi. The boys like the miso with all the MSG goodness of course. We headed out to Pavilion since we had to pick some other stuffs out from there. After lingering around for a bit, we had to rush back to meet Idlan's music teacher. Unfortunately due to the rain and bad traffic, we missed it.

Gone hyper after the miso!We were hence left with the conundrum since Idlan is not keen to go back and join the crowded class after what happened the last few sessions. So far, he missed 3 lessons and that was quite a lot to catch up on. We have to meet the teacher next week and see if she is willing to take up personal lessons.

Today was also the last day of school. Earlier in the day, Idlan had his class concert. It was a rather slow key affair. After the concert was done, Anita went on to register Irfan. He will be joining Seri Utama as well from January. The problem is getting the school uniform for him. He is rather small for his age and he started the kindergarten effectively a couple of years early. When Idlan started last year, we had to order his uniform up front as it was smaller the the smallest standard size.

After the concert, Anita went out to get some school shoes for the boys. She was worried that there will be a rush once the holiday started. While there, she spotted a couple of these cuties - Upin and Ipin! I'm really proud of these guys. It was a real local production. The stories were really good and relatable. Animation could be better, and I am sure will improve. The characters were very well developed. It is something that Malaysians should be proud of. I hear that they are now being featured in the Disney Channel! Good for them!

Prince Court to Pavilion via Yo! Sushi!

There was no really happening cafe at Prince Court to spend my couple of hours. Since I've been to Low Yat earlier, I decided against going over there again. Instead I decided to chill at Pavilion. Have a sushi or two while surfing the net or just walking around. Maybe I'll head for the bookstore next.

Adventure Saturday - Part 2

Irfan's venture at picture taking, originally uploaded by Haris Abdul Rahman. That's my hand that is still hurting after badminton tonight! I'm old!

After we were done with Sg Kanching, everyone felt peckish, especially yours truly. Since I have to go settle my credit card bill, we decided to head for Bukit Bintang. We reached Pavillion about 30 minutes after we left Sg Kanching.

Idlan enjoying his fried riceWhile Irfan couldn't care less ... he prefers golf instead!Idlan wanted his fix for MSG, so we had some sushi while the kids have their tappenyaki fried rice and miso. I then left for Bukit Bintang while Anita and the kids went shopping in Pavillion. I then realised that there is a new fountain built outside the main entrance towards Sg Wang. Boy, there were teenagers around congregating there, punks, goth and all. Identity crisis I thought! Kudo told me that I sounded like an old fart making comments like those on twitter. So I better shut up!

The new fountain outside PavillionWhen I returned, they were just about to take their seat at Godiva cafe. I ordered a hot black chocolate, and it was heavenly. It cost me RM16 for a pot, and it pours for 3+ cups. It was a bargain! I sipped every last drop. Idlan wanted some chocolates, and the waitress duly showed him around. It then dawned on me that a small piece of chocolate will set me back RM9.50 plus tax! Idlan happily picked 4! Argh!!!! But what my baby wants, my baby gets!

Chocoloate served on a platter .... Yummy! It was served on a plate, and Idlan just gulped them in one go and asked for more! We settled in the end for a box of chocolates for him to take home. Won't tell you how much that cost. He finished them all last night!

Today is Monday, back to work. A lot of things needed catching up,and I am due to give a lecture tomorrow morning. Anita was complaining that I a growing fat. So I decided to head out for the badminton session with my ex-Terendak boys. It was a mistake. My fingers flared up again and it is hurting even now. If it is still giving me grief in the next few days, I think I better get it checked out.
