Saturday Night Outing

Kung Fu Panda was back. The third instalment was better than ever. A really great night out last night - a post-call thing and Irfan especially had been nagging about this since I returned from Brisbane. He initially wanted to watch it last Thursday but we could not get a ticket for the early show. It was a school night so, no late show for them!

So, last night both he and Idlan enjoyed the movie. I must admit that I dozed off in the middle since I only had a couple of hours sleep the night before. Idlan sitting next to me nudged me every time there was a good gag and the movie certainly hit all the right note. The boys enjoyed it. I enjoyed it even though I was tired. Definitely one for the family ...

A Nice Stroll

Sunday afternoon and I had myself some free time on my hands. The boys would be having exams tomorrow, so Anita would be occupied and I decided to get some errands done, pay my credit card bills and all.

But the weather was so warm, and I decided to hang around a bit at the mall looking at any good offers. Sure enough there were some mattress that Anita and I had been looking at going for 50% discount. That worked out well.

The entrance to PavilionEaster is around the cornerOpened top!Tokyo Street in PavilionA quick stopAnother thing I noticed was how hard Samsung was pushing the S7 at the malls as this was their opening weekend. Surprisingly there were still plenty of stock. No discounts offered, so no business. Anita wouldn't mind one I was sure. As for me, I still prefer my Nexus.

Two cups of creamy iced coffee later, it was time to head home. I was supposed to stop by Bangsar Village but Sunday afternoons were never a good time to stop there with the pasar malam going on. Best to give that a miss. A quiet evening looking like.

What? A Liverpool Party?

Last Friday, I went straight to Gombak after work as Idlan attended his friend's birthday party at one of the indoor sports hall there. It was a football themed party and the whole gang actually played indoor football before sweatily cut the birthday cake!

It was held at KLFA football training facilities at Melawati, abut the theme was Liverpool!

Even the flames from the candles was redI nearly came up with rashes towards the end! Idlan donned a red shirt but luckily without a Liverpool crest. Otherwise he would have to take his own ride home! The party was fun and Idlan get to play football although it was the first time he did so in an indoor futsal hall and he did not have a proper footware. We would need to get him one.

He enjoyed the party and couldn't help harping on about his footballing conquest afterwards.

Welcomed Rain

The haze had been threatening to hit KL again, and the weather had been really hot lately. Certainly much hotter than before I left for Brisbane, and the rain yesterday afternoon and today really made the difference. I can now feel the air conditioning in the apartment.

And being post-call, all the more reason to just laze out in bed with the TV on .... Let's see what was playing ....

3 Nights in Brisbane

It was a whirlwind of a trip. Arriving late one evening followed by series of meeting and then the conference. It was a great opportunity to network but the decision to leave straight after the conference end reduced the stay a bit more.

I only had a couple of hours in town on the whole but caught a glimpse of what Brisbane had to offer during my dinner events and the quick outings.

The skyline as I crossed the Victoria BridgeSome interesting cafe they have hereAnd the food was top notch ...The important thing was sorting out what to buy for the boys and Anita. No real time for sightseeing. Especially my hotel - Mantra South Bank - was right across the road from the conference venue.

Brisbane is actually a nice modern city. Very hot - the reason why I preferred Melbourne - with real hot sunshine. It hardly rained during the times I was there. The sky was blue, with none of the pollution of KL.

The City HallOut shopping ....They don't have Burger King here ....Calling it the night ....I would have loved to stay there a bit longer with a quick trip to Gold Coast only an hour away. I get to catch The Wheel of Brisbane and pat a koala, but by the time Sunday arrived, I just wanted to fly home and my schedule after would be packed. And sure enough it was.

I should plan for an extra day of rest next time ...
