Wet Morning

I was dreading the traffic this morning. Not much for me although I would have to rush over to Park City after the morning rounds in Subang, but more for Idlan. He has a Math paper this morning.

I woke up at 4 this morning and saw it was raining heavily outside. When I woke up at 6, it was still raining. It was still drizzling when I drove to work and taking an alternative route to Federal Highway I was able to breach the ward after half an hour.

Done with the morning sessionBack to baseI was happy that Idlan also reached school well on time. The traffic into town was quite light.

It had cleared up by the time I drove to Park City this morning although it was still heavier than usual. All in all, it was better than expected.

3 Days

My lab at Park City had just undergone a national audit earlier this week and in the last couple of weeks, the staffs had been hard at work making sure that the audit went successfully and without a hitch. The assessor came to visit on Tuesday with a short interview with me on the same afternoon. That also meant that I had been traveling back and fro regularly lately between the two hospitals and to be honest it could be tiring.

Luckily I managed to cancel a few clinics making the workload in Subang slightly bearable during the duration of the audit.

The feedback had been largely positive and the assessor did come up with a few suggestions for the hospital which would help my lab service. Hopefully the management had been paying attention. But credit must go to my lab manager who made everything looked easy ..... Well done!

Now that the audit was done, it was time to have a nice cup of mocha ....

Winding Down

Another week before Raya and my clinic was getting less busy - I hope. There was no patient at Park City this morning, allowing me to browse the net and just basically chill for a couple of hours. Plenty of article needed perusing, and that was what I just did. Time for another blog entry as well.

Anita and the boys would be joining me at the apartment before Berbuka today hopefully. We plan to do a bit of decorating at Idlan's room. A bit of shuffling and all that. We also decided to trade rooms as I thought his room may be a bit too small for him in the long run. I also really like his room as a small studio. Nice view of the traffic coming down Bukit Pantai as well.

Even the corridor was eerie ...I still have a full clinic today and tomorrow, but hopefully as we get nearer to Raya, the clinic would also be less busy. Certainly the number of dengue cases were becoming more manageable after some hectic period of last three to four months.

Really looking forward for a bit of a break after what had been a busy six months. Will be in Penang also as planned after celebrating Raya in KL. Now that my reading was almost done, I would just be heading back to the apartment to catch the news I guess. Happy days .....

Back to Work

First day back to work after the protracted weekend and I was on call today. The last call - of four - during this Ramadan. The next one would be in the middle of next month.

Slow start, seeing my patients in the ward before setting off to Park City. Just finished off the clinic there - the last patient just called to reschedule - and an ICU referral, and it was time to dump my stuff at the apartment before heading back to Subang for an afternoon clinic and start of the call.

Looks like there's going to be some construction going on ...Anita would be dropping by with food for berbuka later. I've already stocked in for sahur, and tomorrow would be my weekly no-clinic day. Hopefully the call would be kind to my weary body - both physically and mentally. ‎

Sweet Suite

During my ward visit yesterday, I found myself stumbling into one of the VIP room as I was finding the exit. Honestly, the room was more like a hotel suite than a hospital.

Dining area with a pantryYou get your own private balconyMore sofa for your visitorsAnd the hospital bed of courseWell, if I were to be admitted for something routine, I wouldn't mind here. Although it would likely cost more than a hotel suite as well ....
