No Signals

Trying times this morning when I was doing my clinic over at Park City and the Celcom signals kept coming in and out. As a result, I had tons of missed calls. Realising it, I asked the operator to connect straight to the clinic landline.

Clearly it had made an already stressful weekend even more so. A couple of ICU transfers did not lighten my mood at all. And then the prospect of moving back to Gombak. Next call would be on Wednesday ...

Guess I'd better take things easy and get some rest tonight and tomorrow. Onwards with the clinic!!!!

Dizzy Day

The call last night didn’t end well. A devastating event ended it this morning and I was at the hospital very early. Started the round really early after the case was sorted out. I only managed to leave the hospital just after noon, straight for lunch at the apartment.

The original plan was to move back to Gombak, but since I was too tired and I would probably had to return to the hospital later in the evening - which I did, she decided to stay on. But we still had to go to Gombak to sort a few things out. I ended up having a nice nap there, waking up in time to return to Bangsar, and then start the ward round.

And that was my Sunday gone ….. perfect!

In Their Elements

As mentioned, Anita and the boys spent the time at the apartment to accompany me as I was on call today. The boys were still on their Easter Term Break and would only be back to school from next Tuesday.

They spent the whole morning in bed after playing with their console until late night, then started again this afternoon stopping for meals and shower! Since the consoles were in Irfan's room, he had everything on hand. Anita just practically left them in their elements.

It would be a nightmare getting them to return to Gombak tomorrow ....

Divergent

I became interested in the book after reading that it would be made into a feature film. And if it was half as good as the Hunger Games trilogy, then I would be in for a treat.

I went into Audible and downloaded the book. It was rather gripping listening to it on the way to work. So, earlier this week, Anita and I went to watch the movie at the cinema.

The review was not that great, but I must say that the movie was better than expected. The director did take some creative liberty in the storyline but it was clear that they plan to film the whole trilogy and must still needed to be explained in the end.

Great night out. Whether knowing the storyline beforehand made the movie less enjoyable? I wasn't too sure. I would be listening to the rest of the trilogy before the next instalment most definitely.

I would definitely recommend it to whoever who was into Hunger Games.

Expresso at ExpressoLab

After our return from Lumut, we caught up again with Dina and her family plus other friend to celebrate her birthday. It seemed that she was fond of Great Eastern Mall as again she came all the way across town, similar to when she had the party for Moez's birthday.

The venue for the afternoon meetup was a cafe on the first floor of the mall, called ExpressoLab. Yes, they did serve expresso there. But I don't take strong stuff in the afternoon, so it was iced mocha for me instead.

They also serve light snack and lunch. Limited number of items but they served them well. Anita was well impressed with her toasted sandwiches and my pasta was quite nice too. Or maybe because we were hungry at the time.

Nice ambiance and the price was very reasonable. Away from the at times snobbish Alexis crowd. Well worth a stop.
