Steam Fish

Since her illness, Puan Anita was not doing much cooking. To a certain extend, I was starting to miss it. So, I was glad that she cooked last night. And it was some steam fish, something that I had always been keen on.

Suffice to say that we didn't get to share. I gobbled then down in double quick time ....

Return to the Pyramid

Believe it or not, even though Subway Pyramid was only a 5 minutes drive from my hospital, I had not been there for quite some time. Ever since I opened my Desa ParkCity clinic. I usually had Monday and Wednesday morning free. Not anymore.

So today, before the Friday Prayers, I had to do a bit of shopping there and since I was there quite early, decided to have a quick lunch as well. It was still much the same. Not many new shops. But the electronic stores on the top floor were still going strong. You could get most of the latest gadget there, minus the hustle and hype of Low Yat.

Parking was still a pain, even at 11.30 in the morning. I remember last year that I had to park at the hotel just to get a spot. The place could clog up really fast ......

Concert Tomorrow

Tomorrow would be the boys' annual concert. Both would be taking part, with Idlan having a small solo role. Not sure what would be happening as he intended to keep it a secret. I tried to pry and bribe, but no can do.

Unfortunately, the costume for Irfan turned out to be a bit too small. We had to do a quick alteration to salvage things. Hopefully it would turn out OK.

The concert would also start a bit later than usual, at around 11. I had cut down the clinic to finish at around 11, but I thought it would be a struggle. I might be able toncatch glimpses of their performance.

Better charge up my camera for that tonight .....

P1 Unreliable

For the last couple of weeks, the P1 connection we had at our Gombak house had not been at all reliable. It kept breaking up, or suffered from slow bandwidth. Yes, I do get the SMS update that they were looking into it, but it was becoming so often that the SMS started to sound like spams. P1 could have done better by making sure the breakdown doesn't happen in the first place rather than this lame PR exercise.

I ended up using my Celcom line as internet access. And I was sure if this kept on happening, my Telco charges would go up. I would be throttle down soon. Updating blogs was becoming a pain. And I have stopped updating my medical blog as uploading articles were becoming a suffering. Uploading photos to my server? Forget about it!

I could install Unifi here but the wiring would be a pain since this was my in-law's house. For serious work, and uploading big files, I had to go to my apartment. I would enjoy the 30 Mbit speed there. But unfortunately, there were no fibres yet in Gombak ......

Ole Ole from Sarawak

This was something new. And nice. During the afternoon ward round, one if my nurses just returning from her couple of weeks holiday in Sarawak brought these along. They were cooked by her Mum.

I heard of these, but never tasted it. The one above is called Lidah Buaya. Looks sweeter than it is, but once in your mouth, you just coukdnt stop asking for more. Dangerous stuff!

And it didn't stop there. I couldn't recall what the second was called, but they were just as nice.
