iOS Update

So, this would be the first of series software updates to tag along the launch if both the iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch Series 2. First the iOS 10, next would be the Watch OS 3 and next week, the new Mac OS Sierra.

The download was bigger than I expected. 1.1 Gb. Luckily it was a doddle with my bandwidth but I would imagine that it would've taken ages on my old speed.

The update process was smooth. It did render my Squarespace app useless. From now on in would have to update the blog only from the computer. No more mobile upload, at least for my main blog. Harisrahman.com was still running the legacy Squarespace version 5 engine and I liked to leave it that way. They were more predictable and stable.

My phones, I pads and watch had had their update. Time to wait for the Sierra.

Warhol in Town

It was pretty rare to have world class exhibition in town. And I have always been fascinated by Warhol as he was basically an innovative photographer at heart. But his work transcence just photography. It was modern art.

Let's go in ...Those famous prints .... LegendaryI was expecting a lot when I heard that the exhibition was coming. Titled Social Circus, it was held at Slate, a hall right next to Limapulo at The Row, Jalan Doraisamy. It was a spinoff to a similar exhibition in Singapore. And it was a huge success there.

After my ward round last Wednesday, I went there after my lunch. Parked at Quill City Mall opposite, I crossed the road really looking forward to what it had to offer.

The artist and his processThem Campbell's canIf you wanna selfie ...Signed myself in, and was treated to the iconic Mao images. Then came the Monroe and the Campbell soup prints. All were celebrated work. And then, that was about it…

I was expecting much more. Yes, there some quality but it merely made up for the black of quantity. At least it was free. Imagine if I had to pay to get I, i would've demanded a refund.

Let's go upstairsThat should work against Aedes ...Looking down ....Let's split ....Maybe I was expecting too much reading from his body of work. A gallant effort but I should've read between the line when I found out about the venue.

Slate was a nice exhibition area but it lacked the square footage. A nice and intimate setting and would've been a great venue for small events or reception. Would income again? Of course I would but I would expect more…

Happy Malaysia Day

I was doing a bit groceries early this morning and it appeared that the Jalur Gemilang Lego bits at Bangsar Village was completed in the nick of time.

Back at the apartment now and waiting for Syahril and his family to arrive. Will likely chill out the rest of the day, but would be on call tomorrow.

For those resting at home and enjoying the long weekend, Happy Malaysia Day!

That Lunch

With the new highway called LATAR, the journey from my parents’ place in Gombak to Kuala Selangor had been cut from 2 hours before to half that. Yesterday - as I was free, I decided to take them for lunch there. Luckily one of the driver was free and I had the chance to just chill out on the journey.

I though the crab looked smaller ....Thats the one ...Airy ....Time to orderWe left rather late as I had some things to do at the hospital that morning. We finally arrived at the restaurant at around 1.30. The crowd was still building up at the time. But the cook there was really efficient, and despite the crowd, we got our food quite fast as we were already hungry when we arrived.

Getting readyFresh fish coming in from the seaNeeded some spicing up ....The food were finally here ...We ordered a couple kilograms of crabs, some prawns and fish as well as vegetables. And true to our word, we finished them all. The crab was fresh but the highlight must have been the garoupa. It was exceptional!

And the aftermathIt was too warm to walk around. Anita shelved the idea of walking around to buy salted fish. It only took me 10 minutes before going to sleep at the back of the car …..
