Off to Quill

I finished my day earlier than planned yesterday with cancellation of a couple of meetings. I had some time to take Anita to do some groceries and ended up at a mall we were not familiar with, the Quill City Mall.

Nestled close to the Centre of town but hidden out of the way at the same time, we passed by this mall many times but never got around to stop. We were heading somewhere else initially but decided to stop by. I must say that the place was bigger than expected, and much to my surprise looked to be one of the more pleasing place architecturally.

It was in the middle of the Mooncake Festival and the decorations at the mall reflected that. There were cute miniature dolls in the central bazaar which caught my eye.

The curves and the natural light bathing the inner structure was something to be admired. And the whole place appeared airy and spacious. There were plenty of café to stop by although on the whole the mall still appeared empty despite being opened for some time. Maybe it was a weekday which made the place looked empty.

Parking was a breeze and the whole basement was occupied by AEON, making grocery shopping less of a hassle. We were worried that it was right in the middle of the rush hour when we left. Luckily Waze guided us away from the heavy traffic and we were gone within half an hour. We would definitely return although a quick tip, the Hamley's outlet wasn't worth a stop.

Wet Morning

I was dreading the traffic this morning. Not much for me although I would have to rush over to Park City after the morning rounds in Subang, but more for Idlan. He has a Math paper this morning.

I woke up at 4 this morning and saw it was raining heavily outside. When I woke up at 6, it was still raining. It was still drizzling when I drove to work and taking an alternative route to Federal Highway I was able to breach the ward after half an hour.

Done with the morning sessionBack to baseI was happy that Idlan also reached school well on time. The traffic into town was quite light.

It had cleared up by the time I drove to Park City this morning although it was still heavier than usual. All in all, it was better than expected.

Assessment Day

It was going to be a big few days for Ara Damansara Medical Centre when the MSQH assessor hit the place for their audit. They had been preparing for a number of months and since I was in charge of the labs, I had to do my bid.

The morning briefing started at around 8 am, which meant that I had to delay my morning rounds. By the time the talk was done, my phone had already been ringing a number of times. I drove back to Subang just about the time when the morning rush hour was dissipating, and was finished by lunch.

Waiting for my afternoon meetingThe morning trafficThen came the time for my interview. The assessor was meticulous but had yet to go through the lab completely. After a 30 minutes chat, she got on with her assessment and I was dismissed for my afternoon rounds back in Subang.

So, it was a day of driving back and forth. Luckily the heavy traffic which was plaguing the Subang Airport Road had eased off following the completion of the LRT line. Back home after the afternoon rounds really made me tired both mentally and physically. Time for an early night trying to convince Idlan to go to sleep early. It would be his English papers tomorrow.

Here We Go

It’s finally here. Idlan was finally sitting for the #UPSR. Towards the end, it was Anita who looked more tense than Idlan, but that would be only natural. This would be the first major exam for any of her children, and of course who would be worried.

Idlan took some time before sleeping last night. He was full of energy and when he woke up this morning, he was rearing to go. I was sure that he would be asleep come this afternoon after the paper was done.

It would be Bahasa Malaysia today, and he learned all the formats as required. Some aspects of the test were far too technical for me, and truth be told, I was never that good at the languages.

Tomorrow would be English - another couple of papers - before going into his favourite subjects of Math and Sciences on the final couple of days of the exams.

Haircut for the examFriday? He would be sitting for an aptitude test at his next school, so the exam would only be done for him on Friday afternoon.

He looked ready when he left the door this morning. I hope he would be as cheerful when he returned later this afternoon.

Late Queue

Second call of the week today and looking forward for the weekend. Idlan was heading for his final stretch for the upcoming UPSR. In terms of revision, he seemed calmer than his mother. Anita had been pulling her hair out all week.

The call today had been staggered and I was hoping to have some sleep before starting early tomorrow. I had already cancelled my clinic and was hoping to have time to attend a talk in town tomorrow. I had a meeting lined up before hopefully being able to take Idlan for a hair cut.
