The Week After

A lot of people was asking me about the dinner I had with Anita on our Anniversary. It wasn't much about what we did, but more on the venue which got plenty of people excited.

The view was not bad ...Getting to our tableThe venue was Thirty8 at Grand Hyatt, a restaurant at the top of the hotel, overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers. The view was spectacular and the fact that we started the dinner at 6.30 meant that we were able to enjoy the whole sunset.

Getting there was straight forward and that being a Sunday meant that traffic was light. We reached the car park at the basement, took a lift to the ground floor before getting into another which took us straight to another lobby on the top floor. You would then take another set of stairs up to the restaurant who also served as the breakfast venue and the bar.

Looking down towards the Pokemon Go players at KLCC ParkLooking down towards the lobby which was a floor belowThe starters are hereAnd one of the sous chef came along to complete the presentation We were treated very well indeed and the food was fusion of Western and Chinese. After some salad, I had some steak while Anita had some roast chicken. I must say that the food was great. The chef was a French gentleman and one of his assistant actually came to my table asking me how the wagyu beef were to be cooked. And lastly came the dessert which topped the evening out for us.

Since I mentioned that it was to be our Anniversary Dinner during the booking, the table was specially prepared and hence the great view that we had.

And the sun was coming down ...The gorgeous chunk of wagyu beef for the mainsSome asparagus on the side for meAnd the dessert to share to finish things off ...I would definitely recommend the place for those interested. Yes, it was on the costly side but it was not excessively so.

LEGO at the Village

It was almost Merdeka and usually Bangsar Village would be filled by flags and the rest. This time around, there were flags. But it was made of LEGO bricks.

Neat. They were just starting out, so I suspect that we would see the whole thing only later in the week. Will definitely drop by again to have another look.

From Last Year

It looks like this year, the #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign was gaining traction. It had been for a number of years, and I still got the band from last year.

Merdeka was only a couple of days away. Guess it was a good time to wear them again!

Happy Merdeka Day. But first, I would be on call today …. please be kind!

Sunday at Maju Junction

We planned to have a look at MARA Digital last Sunday lunchtime and were deciding on where to park. Traffic was light though but sometimes you might get trapped in long queues. We do not mind a bit of walking.

In the end, we parked at the basement of Maju Junction and as we walked up, we noticed a nice cosy eating area run by Parkson. A nice surprise indeed as the place appeared to be well maintained and the food were reasonable. Not crowded at all for a Sunday Afternoon. Easy decision.

I had some nasi ayam"Real Food, Real People"Everything was nice and cleanMaking our way across to MARA DigitalI had some nasi ayam and Anita had some noodles. Next came the walk to the next block to Medan MARA where MARA Digital was located. We would definitely park here again. Access in and out of the car park was also quite straight forward ….

Saturday Afternoon

After a lighter than usual Saturday Morning clinic, I had a free afternoon. Decided to have a day out at KLCC with Anita with the boys staying in and Idlan occupied with the coming UPSR - although I had hardly seen him do any kind of work!

The weather was rather overcast but the rain earlier in the day helped with the air quality. It was starting to haze again …

We had some tea - unfortunately they ran out of tomato juice, so no Virgin Mary for Anita - at KLCC before going to do a bit of shopping. I ended up going back to Bangsar later having a haircut. A nice relaxing afternoon while gearing up for the return of football a bit later in the day. Unfortunately I had yet to get my Manchester United new shirt. They kept being sold out!

It was always good to have a Saturday afternoon off. It would be conferences and meeting in scheduled in the coming few weeks …
