Sunny Sunday

The Gombak house suffered from water shortage all weekend. We decided on waking up this morning to head to the apartment, spend the day there doing the washing and everything. It happened that I had to be at the hospital later in the afternoon, so, it wasn't a bad idea after all.

We had to return early though. United kicks off early this evening. It could be a key weekend as if we beat QPR and Arsenal did us a favour by beating Citeh at home, the title would swing to Old Trafford big time.

Just sorted things out at the apartment and were ready to head out for lunch. Not decided yet in where to go. But Bangsar Village is only 5 minutes away. That may be the destination.

Holiday Week

Until this morning, we spent the whole week at the apartment. Even though the beds would only be delivered next week, we managed to get most things sorted out, and the boys were especially happy. The highlight being the big screen at the living room.

Irfan would select his Astro channel and din the lights down while settling onto the sofa. It was movie night every night as far as he was concerned.

We were also waiting for the gas to be sorted out. I have been calling Gas Malaysia a few times but they were always busy. At least we have the induction hob at the dry kitchen, and we made do with that for the moment.

Unfortunately, we had to return to Gombak today. I'll also be on call tomorrow, and it looks like I'll be staying there alone tomorrow evening.

We would work out a schedule later on as to when we would be coming over again. We were planning weekends there for the time being as the boys would be staying in Gombak during school nights.

Pizza Sunday

It had been a long day. And it was a Sunday. After the call, I was flat last night in front of the TV. I watched the first half of City-Sunderland match, and was asleep at halftime. Bye bye football!

The next thing I remembered, it was 5 in the morning and I couldn't find my phone. Quick search at the TV room and luckily there were no calls from the hospital.

Ward round went smoothly, and then I attended a product lunch at Sunway Resort Hotel, followed by lunch. A quick dash back to Gombak to pick everyone up to spend the afternoon at the apartment, before going out for groceries at Bangsar Village.

So, finally, the apartment now looked more like a home, and it was time for dinner. Pizza Hut was as good as any.

Morning with Puan Anita

Puan Anita followed me to the hospital today, to have a check-up on her knee. She had been having pain on it for some time, and this morning, it suddenly flared up again. I managed to get one of my Orthopaedic friends to have a look at it, and all was sorted.

After sorting out my ward patients, we went out for late breakfast in Bangsar. I needed to get some groceries done as well as sorting out some paperwork. Wow! Even at 10.30 am, Chawan and the Telawi area was already full. I used to envy people who worked on their own. Now that I was sort of in a similar position, I appreciate it a lot more.

Back to clinic in the afternoon however.

Glorious Morning

I have never been a good sleeper when I'm on call. But last night was different. It was the first time I slept at the new apartment. After the unexpected longer than expected journey home after midnight, I went about exploring the place.

Puan Anita had bought drinks, some sushi and pizza for dinner. And she left it in the kitchen. I had taken earlier dinner, so it was a nice snack. I then went around tuning the TV. Satellite was not connected yet although the decoder ha already been installed.

Next, I opened the door to the balcony to enjoy some fresh air. I left it open overnight and slept on the breeze. The next thing I knew, it was the speakers from the mosque nearby blaring out recitals from the Koran, followed by the athan. It was already daybreak.

I ambled myself to the main bedroom, switched the heater on. Thump! The circuit breaker kicked in. Oh dear! It soon did it again the second time. Better get it fixed later then.

While waiting for the hot water, I enjoyed the morning sunrise with a cup of coffee. It was nice although my unit did not enjoy the full glory. Enough through my soon to be study window though.

I ended up having shower at the other bathroom, got myself dressed and realised that the shaver was left in Gombak .....

The drive in was superb though. 10 minutes to the hospital. On a smooth traffic. time to get some work done ....
