Treated for Breakfast

As expected, I was asked to sleep in the study last night. Could not sleep well. Woke up at around 4 am, with a mega sore throat. Time for some drinks and a bit of painkiller. Switched on the TV, and caught the later parts of the England-Wales match. Dozed off to sleep with the TV on after that.

I felt much better when I woke up after the Subuh azan. Time to wake Anita and the boys up by then. After she sorted out the boys at school, we went out for a spot of breakfast. Anita had to buy some books in Bangsar, and she treated me with breakfast at La Bodega. Felt much better after the warm coffee and more medications.

Still cosy and quiet at this early hoursAnita and her order of drinks. Mango juice and English breakfast teaThe order of 'big breakfast' came with sausage, bacon, mushroom, baked beans and toast. You can then select how you like your eggs. The sauteed mushroom actually tasted a lot better than it looked.Yup! I was done!I must have eaten too much, and felt bloated after that. Well, you would expect that if you just took egg benedicts and other side orders wouldn't you? But that certainly cheered up my morning. Just returned from fetching Irfan from school. The myalgia was still there, but better. Time for some more medications and some reading. Found a few interesting article about the Putera UMNO mission to Somalia, the one which got the Bernama cameraman killed. Sounded like there were than met the eyes ….. and the plot thickened.

Paper Origami Birds

I have been puzzled by this sudden invasion of birds in Bangsar Village II. I was assured that it had nothing to do with Ramadhan. They were everywhere, mainly by the staircases, hanging down from the ceiling. It blended well with their signature boxy lanterns that they had over there for many years.

They hang down from the topThey were not live birds though - I didn't think they would be able to cope with the droppings! They were paper origami birds. All appeared to be hand-made. A nice touch I thought!

Czip Lee Plus, Bangsar

During the time Idlan was at the Lego camp and Anita having her facial, I ventured out across the road to Czip Lee. Not the main branch, but a relatively new store, called Czip Lee Plus, and it held the biggest collection of Molskine in town. Far bigger a collection than Kinokuniya or Tango Mango. Or even both of them put together!

They even had bags, envelopes, pen and small cases. And even reading glasses. Much like the collection I saw when I was in London. It was not cheap mind! So, naturally I bought something LOL! Sucker! Now I know where to get my Moleskine fix in town!

The staff there also appeared knowledgeable of the products. They also had a mean selection of Lamy pen - another favorite of mine. Some of the models they had there, I have yet to see being sold anywhere else in town. The shop is located across the road from Bangsar Village II, right opposite delicious, along Jalan Telawi 4. More information on their website here.

A Day as a Driver

Today was spent being a driver. Idlan was at the Lego camp and Anita was right next door at Bangsar Village II for a facial. We timed it so that both went on at the same time, but I thought Anita overdid it a bit this week. The facial took a good 3 hours almost. I was sure she was talked into having extra treatment. By the time she was done, Idlan was right grumpy.

Idlan made a crane at the camp today and from the way he described it, he was having a great time. The camp, as he liked to call it was on the second floor of Village II. He went there for an hour and a half each Saturday. Each trip offered different activities, and today he made himself a crane, complete with gears and pulleys. No electronic motors this week. Irfan on the other hand refused to go. He pointed out that the class was only for those already in primary School. Missing out on all the fun I supposed.

Idlan was ready to goNext, I would have to drive to Pasar Ramadhan. And that I didn't mind.

La Bodega for Breakfast

As I took today off, after sorting out the boys in school, we took off to Bangsar for a quick breakfast. Out usual joint there was La Bodega, a happening breakfast place. Everytime I have an off day during weekdays, this was the place I prefer to be as the food was nice and the ambiance was cooling. Shane that the meal was jot cheap.

This morning, the place seemed fuller than usual. Full of those business type clinching out deals. A few lady of leisure types as well meeting up with their posh girlfriends - the place is surrounded with apartments where the ex-pat stays, hence you'd expect a few of these types around.

The couple of guys next to our table were busy talking about a TV deal they were about to clinch with TV3. They had a clever plan B though as if the deal did not go through - because apparently they did not pay up a certain politician - they would pitch the idea to a station in Singapore. To quote - they were referring it as 'drama bersiri' - and they were a couple of Chinese guys! Truly 1Malaysia this!

After murdering my Egg Benedict, me and Anita went to do some groceries right next door at Village II. How we wishes we live d the corner from there.
