Another Morning

The packing was more or less done by the time I head down for breakfast. We had to take turns as the boys were still asleep. The breakfast was as yesterday, nothing to about about. But at least they had omelet. Thy should keep me going in the morning.

The question now was what to do next. We can't leave until the laksa stall was open as we had to bring some to KL for my in-laws. When I asked the stall yesterday, they assured me that they would be open for business by 2 pm. Let's hope that try stay true to their words because I prefer to travel early. To wait for the shop to open, we nay have to settle for another round of nasi kandar then. Now, that was a big ask!

Anita wanted to get dome pickles from Chowrasta Market in town. I don't mind that, although I prefer to take the trishaw around rather than drive. We shall wait and see what the boys wanted to do. I also had to stop by my Grandmother's place one last time before driving down to KL.

Plans for Today

Breakfast was done. I went down first with my parents and Anita went down separately later as the boys were still asleep. It was almost 1 in the morning when they finally calmed down and fell to sleep. It looked like we probably had to order room service breakfast for them for tomorrow. I'm still not sure what time they would be up.

Plans for today? The wearer was rather gloomy. The plan to walk out with my camera had to be delayed. Depending on what time the boys getting up, we would decide them. Driving around to Batu Feringghi still felt like a great idea.

As for now, I had to content myself with watching morning talk shows on RTM. Keeping that up, I might start to puke. Why must everything start with the letter 1? 1Malaysia, 1Sekolah ...... Zzzzzzz

La Bodega for Breakfast

As I took today off, after sorting out the boys in school, we took off to Bangsar for a quick breakfast. Out usual joint there was La Bodega, a happening breakfast place. Everytime I have an off day during weekdays, this was the place I prefer to be as the food was nice and the ambiance was cooling. Shane that the meal was jot cheap.

This morning, the place seemed fuller than usual. Full of those business type clinching out deals. A few lady of leisure types as well meeting up with their posh girlfriends - the place is surrounded with apartments where the ex-pat stays, hence you'd expect a few of these types around.

The couple of guys next to our table were busy talking about a TV deal they were about to clinch with TV3. They had a clever plan B though as if the deal did not go through - because apparently they did not pay up a certain politician - they would pitch the idea to a station in Singapore. To quote - they were referring it as 'drama bersiri' - and they were a couple of Chinese guys! Truly 1Malaysia this!

After murdering my Egg Benedict, me and Anita went to do some groceries right next door at Village II. How we wishes we live d the corner from there.

Breakfast at La Bodega

A couple of months ago, Anita went out with a friend who was holiday from the UK and ended up having breakfast in Bangsar. After looking around, they decided to try La Bodega. It was a well-known tapas bar chain, and I did not realise that they serve breakfast. She could not stop raving about the breakfast there and since I was free this morning - while I was still on holidays - I decided to try it.

The interiorMy egg BenedictEgg Benedict no moreMy God, it was great. I ordered egg Benedict with smoked salmon, with sauteed mushrooms, and had a double expresso to go with them. The egg was well-cooked, the bread toasted just the way it should be, the smoked salmon was succulent and the mushroom was gorgeous. The expresso certainly added zing to my morning.

Should you guys visit Bangsar during the morning and was wondering where to have breakfast, do give La Bodega a try. They certainly know how to serve breakfast.

As for me, I'll be traveling this Sunday to Ipoh. I'll be invigilating there on Monday. I won't be bringing the troops aloh as they will be at school. We will e traveling the weekend after to Melaka to attend Habibah's wedding. Better sort the clinic up first!
