Security

The story about a Tan Sri shooting down a parang-weilding robber at a medical clinic in town last night got me thinking how vulnerable the Casualty were in case robbers came into the lobby and asked for money from the till. Will the security staffs be able to this kind of situation? How about the patients who were waiting to be treated? And their relatives? Will the security staffs be able to protect the medical staffs and patients should somebody turned up with a shotgun.
Subang Jaya is not exactly the safest neighborhood as far as security was concerned. And I dread the day when someone do come in and rob our hospital at night. We really need to get the security beefed up. I pray that we wouldn't be a target.

Gloomy Day
I didn't blog yesterday. It had been a rather traumatic and gloomy day on a personal front for me.
Right after sahur, we received a call that one of our close family passed away suddenly shortly earlier. He had some chest pain after midnight but unfortunately passed away after reaching the hospital. He was quite well prior.
Anita went to the funeral later that morning as I was at work. I left for work quite late and it took me 90 minutes to reach work. The traffic was really bad. But that wasn't the end of it.
In between my clinic patients, I went to the lounge to catch up on the latest gossip. That was when I learned about one of my colleague being assaulted the evening before, and was still in the surgery that morning.
I do not want to go to any specifics. She was doing better this morning but the assault was a major one, which may affect her career. This got me thinking about how vulnerable I was whizzing in and out of the hospital in ungodly hours to see my patients. I could have easily been stopped on the road, and I could easily be in trouble. If something were to happen to me, what would be the repurcussions?
The mood in the lounge had been gloomy and would possibily continue to do so for the rest of the week. Imagine the trauma ny colleague had been through. But from what I knee of her, she would be strong enough to handle all that. All my prayers for her while she recovers.
