Happy Father's Day

As usual, my boys did not get the memo when it came to Father's Day. I could only console myself with some gifts from the ward staffs when I did my Sunday Morning rounds.

I got some chocolates and cards, enough to make me smile. Ramadhan meant organising dinner was a bit tricky. Maybe we would do the dinner some other time. The next day also happened to be my Dad's 70th Birthday. Again, we could not organise any dinner. Maybe we will do something a bit later in the month instead.

Happy Father's Day to all celebrating!

The Cookies are Back!

Anita's favourite cookies, LoveBakeCookies were back to Bangsar Village and yesterday, we didn't waste any time from picking a jar or four from the stall.

Truth be told, I was excited as well. The only problem was, they were not that cheap! There were some nice new flavours which Anita tried last night which turned out great. My personal favourite was the jam tart. They were not too sweat and I must say that the baker did not skim on the ingredients. The stock this year however was noticeably more expensive than last year. According to the staffs, the raw material was more expensive this time around. And there was also the GST.

It looked like we had to go there again before the end of Ramadhan to stock up. Last year, we left it too late and the variety which we wanted were already sold out. Hopefully that would not be the case this year.

The Ride Home

We had an eventful night tonight. The original plan was to get Idlan registered for his national ID card tonight as we read that the registration centre was opened until 10pm. It turned out that they closed early during Ramadhan. We planned this ahead and had our berbuka at my inlaw's place before going to the centre which was located in Keramat.

Denied!

So, as we only drove the MPV into the centre, I had to turn back to pick up my car in Gombak. Rather than drove everybody back, I decided to let Anita drive the MPV to the apartment while I took the LRT back to Gombak and sort out my car.

As it was just after Isya', the LRT was very quiet and it turned out to be quite a pleasant ride. I was back to my inlaw's place within 20 minutes, and had another pleasant drive back to the apartment. It worked out fine in the end ....

Berbuka at Bukit Antarabangsa

It was Julia and Salleh's turn to sponsor the berbuka at Bukit Antarabangsa on the second day of Puasa. It was a yearly tradition - my turn would be next weekend.

I went there only with Anita since the boys had tuition and mengaji that afternoon. We got there early, greeted by my Mum who prepared something extra for me, my favourite Gulai Ikan Kering. It was to die foot, with extra portion for sahur later.

Almost time Time for prayers More people than expected turned up and the food was finished 5 minutes before berbuka. We hang around until after Maghrib prayers after which in had to send Idlan for his tuition.

Selamat Bersahur

Ramadhan had returned for another year. I was on call the evening before the Ramadan started, which meant I was not able to take my customary first of Ramadhan day off this year. But clinic was cancelled, and I only had half a dozen admission - although they could do without coming in after midnight.

The boys were woken up for sahur - the early breakfast before the day of fasting - reluctantly. But they soon realised that they may be starving if they didn't eat. In the end, it did not take much convincing although as you could see, they couldn't even opened their eyes completely ....

After my ward round this morning, I went into Bangsar to join Anita to get her the clothes for Raya. She must pick first at that would set the scene for the colour for the rest. And she got some nice ones. And it looked like it was going to be red or maroon this year around ....
