Breakfast. Finally.

This week was a weird one. We had holidays on Tuesday (Deepavali) and Thursday (Awal Muharram), not to mention the usual weekend break. Unfortunately for me, I was not able to get much break until the Thursday as I was on call both on the previous Sunday and Deepavali Tuesday. And the call had been hectic.

I started my rounds early this morning - I was not able to get much sleep last night as I was interrupted by phone calls and could not get back to sleep. I ended up watching football instead - many draws from what I can see. So, when I returned home starving, Anita had prepared me a brunch. It had been a while since Anita had managed to cook for me. She had always been busy with the kids. For the week, all of us stayed at the apartment, so we had more time to ourselves, and it saved me from having to travel far for work being on call and stuff.

Looking forward to a relaxing day and weekend …. and it was only Thursday!

Sunday at B.I.G.

The B.I.G. - Ben's Independent Grocer - at Solaris Dutamas was an imposing store at so many level. It was located on the Lower Ground, and one could never miss it.

We could spend the whole afternoon at the place alone. There were rows of groceries, plus a couple of nice cafe to sit at to pass the time - code for husbands to sit down while the wives were doing the shopping.

We sat down at the cafe yesterday to have lunch. The food was OK. The lasagna and pizza were great, but the salad not really. In fact it was rather disappointing. It was meant to be a Mediterranean el fresco twist to it, but fallen miserably short.

Sitting for lunchThe salad was not really nice at allThe lasagna however was superbLet's ask what Irfan thought of the pizza .... self explanatory ........ and the mocha was not badAfter lunch, my boys went berserk at the grocers. Especially the more domesticated Irfan. He kept piling up the baskets with all sorts of food. Idlan couldn't care less. Everything was clearly and well laid out. And the other plus about the place was the majority of the staffs there were locals. Communications was easy. The butcher however was Australian .... which was a bit strange.

I wonder what that big "B" was doing in the middle of the aisleDefinitely a place to visit. A nice place to spend Sunday lunch, if you have some groceries to do.

And Then It Was Dinner

I managed to reach the hospital just before prayers, saw my patients before going off again. By the time I finished the afternoon clinic, I was right tired.

As soon as I reached home, Irfan asked to go to The Curve. He wanted the pizza at Marche. Idlan seconded that. And I was pushed to a corner. Decision was made. And off we went to Damansara in the middle of the rain.

I want my pizza! That's a lot of potatoThe place was not as packed as it usually was. Parking was easy. As we were all tired and starving, we went straight to Marche. For some reason, I didn't feel in the mood for any meat. It was vege all the way for me. And some pasta.

So, what was after dinner. Maybe a quick walk around the mall to ease the food down ..... Good night!

Raining again

I didn't think that the boys and I could take another open house today. Instead of going out to visit a friend of ours in Bangi, we stayed back. The boys needed to do some revision for their exams coming up in the next couple of weeks.

By late afternoon, everybody became restless and off we went to the park.

As soon as we got into the car, the heavens opened. Should we turn back? Nope. The boys needed to burn off some energy. They were really hyper already. A quick meal, then it was off to the indoor playground. And oh did they run?

Now at Mum's

It hasn't relented yet. After Maghrib, we went over to my Mum's house again in Bukit Antarabangsa for dinner and more food. I could hardly breath now with all the curry and stuff. I was stuffed. And my boys were still jumping up and down with their cousins.

I better slow down now, and relax before going to bed. I bet, I would get up late. I have already told the staffs that I would only start my rounds at 10am, having cancelled my clinic.
