Heading Home
Yes, there was the customary drama before he was allowed home. The moment Idlan saw Anita, all hell broke loose. It was painful everywhere and even the anaesthetist came to help. Nothing some paracetamol syrup can't fix! And from the improvement he had, that must've been one hell of a paracetamol concoction.
On the vanride home now. Our driver driving extra slow to miss all the bumps on the road. The local anaesthetics was still holding so far. Not much shouting yet. Only the odd ooh and aah.
He asked for some Nando's chicken again. Obviously his grandmother put an end to that. Not sure what the diet going to be like waiting for him when we reached home, with all the pantang and what not.
The bed and Nintendo were ready. Hopefully he could get a bit of rest for the next couple of days. I was sure Irfan had other plans ...
Woken Up
Alhamdulillah. It was all settled. Idlan had just woken up. And he had been talking nonsense since. In between, there was the coherent questions such as, "Where's my KFC?", and "Why is this needle on my left not my right hand?".
I'll blame that to the anaesthesia. He didn't go back to sleep once he woke up. And even worse, turned to his side once. Luckily the local anaesthesia was still in effect. Otherwise ...
Would be another hour or so before he wakes up proper. Enough time for me to do a quick round in the ward.
The Wait
We arrived at the hospital we'll before 7.30, got ourselves registered and was waiting for his turn to be called in. His cousin, Adam was second on the list, and he was still waiting for his turn. I suspect Idlan would be called about an hour after.
The only complaint he had was he was hungry. The last meal he had was at around 10 last night. He has yet to have anything to drink since. Just occupying himself on the iPad. Mumbling to himself after the weighing and observation.
So, Anita was outside and I was waiting with Idlan at the waiting area. I would call her in soon as soon as I settled the paperwork with the nurses.
Almost Set
What do you want to eat tonight Idlan? You would have to fast from midnight tonight!
The answer was Nando's. Nando's it was then. Idlan actually finished his plate of half chicken. No complaints.
We have moved a bed to the main sitting room upstairs so that Idlan didn't have to climb downstairs when he reached home from the hospital tomorrow morning. I have just hooked up his Wii U console onto the TV there as well.
We were almost all set.
