Heading Home

Yes, there was the customary drama before he was allowed home. The moment Idlan saw Anita, all hell broke loose. It was painful everywhere and even the anaesthetist came to help. Nothing some paracetamol syrup can't fix! And from the improvement he had, that must've been one hell of a paracetamol concoction.

On the vanride home now. Our driver driving extra slow to miss all the bumps on the road. The local anaesthetics was still holding so far. Not much shouting yet. Only the odd ooh and aah.

He asked for some Nando's chicken again. Obviously his grandmother put an end to that. Not sure what the diet going to be like waiting for him when we reached home, with all the pantang and what not.

The bed and Nintendo were ready. Hopefully he could get a bit of rest for the next couple of days. I was sure Irfan had other plans ...

Rehab Starts

I managed to actually get about 5 hours of continuous sleep before being woken hobby a phone call asking if paracetamol could be served to one of my inpatient. Felt refreshed when I woke up, and hopefully both of the important women in my life would be feeling as good as I would at the moment.

I don't be able to visit my Mum until I sorted out my morning situation, with clinics, ward rounds and Anita in the ward. I would be heading to see her as soon as I finished with Subang. She might start be mobilised today, and hopefully it won't be long before she's discharged.

There would need to be some modification at her place in Bukit Antarabangsa as I wasn't very keen about her tolerating stairs in her current state. I maybe have to bring down one if the bed down. I got her the bed when she had her operations in 2008. We would put that by the living room, so that it would be easy for visitors to come and see her.

So, plenty to be done today, but at least it was less of the feeling of worry, concern and anxiety that I had to carry with me before this. InsyaAllah, things would het better.

Operation Done

Alhamdulillah, the operation was done and there was some infection found. Anita would need some antibiotics in the coming days and would not be going home tomorrow yet. Sunday maybe, but that would depend on her fever.

It certainly had been draining for me on the personal level the last day. Hopefully things would settle down InsyaAllah. Now, come to think of it, I was really hungry. Maybe, once Anita woke up, I'll get something to it. But the choice would be mamak and mamak for tonight I was afraid.

The Waiting Game

Surgery was finally scheduled for around 7 pm and as expected, Puan Anita was worried. But she started having fever, and the tummy pain was starting to bother her, so it was easy enough for me to justify going for the surgery to her.

We elected to go the keyhold route - laparoscopy. Hopefully, the pain would be a lot less and the recovery faster. She was fast asleep as I was writing this. The surgeon just been to see her, and yes, the tummy pain was worse than earlier today.

I've already informed the family and we would be waiting for an opening on the emergency list. The anaesthetist would be the same lady who put Irfan under last year. In fact, when Irfan was around earlier, she came over to tall to Irfan. He just shied away.

So, let's wait then.....

Settling for the Evening

It certainly had been a long day. When we finally about to settle down for bed, Idlan had a vomit. He had been complaining of stomach ache all afternoon. His classmates at school had been having sniffles and cold, and I think he had caught the virus off them.

I wouldn't be surprised if he start having a temperature from tomorrow morning. Anita had also been sneezing all day. The most bubbly person in the house was probably Irfan. He had been puttering about all evening.
