The Return of Hilfiger

We spend the best part of the afternoon doing some clothes shopping at KLCC. After stops at Marks and Spencer among others, I finally bought some shirts at Tommy Hilfiger at Parkson.

When I was in the UK, Tommy had been my favourite brand. However, in the last 5 years, the quality of its product had deteriorated badly. Even the outlet abroad did not have good enough selection.

I was pleasantly surprised by the new selection, that I ended up buying more than I should. It was so much, that I was enrolled into their VIP club for discounts and free alterations. Nice!

It looked like I have used up my clothing provision for the next three months ......

At the Hairdresser's

Upon arriving back home front Gohtong Jaya, Anita reminded me of another thing I missed before the school open for the boys cone Tuesday. They needed some serious haircut. The last time they had theirs, it was at Saw's in KLCC. They had since grew fond of the stylist they had there last. A very nice young man called Truno.

We were lucky that he was available when we turned up. He started working on Irfan first. That would take him at least half an hour. Idlan's hair was not as long. But by the time they had finished, I better start thinking of iftar. I would fancy a bit of Tandoori as there would be a football match tonight. United playing Citeh for the Charity Shield. I can assure you that come the kick-off whistle, there wouldn't be much charity on display!

On the way up to the salon, I bumped into an old friend from Shuffled Sheffield, Darman. It has been a decade since I met him. He has not changed much. He has now married his girlfriend and they had a couple of girls.

This entry was prepared and uploaded using the SquareSpace Android app I was beta testing.

Settling in

Since arriving back from Penang, things has been kind of hectic, both at UMMC and home. Even during the weekend, I had appointments yesterday as well as a whole day meet today. And that won't finish until late this afternoon. Another meeting then. Did not even have the time yet to visit my Mum. She would be doing her Tarawikh tonight already.

Well, might drop by tomorrow though, but minus the food of course.

Finally had the time to peruse through the photographs and edit them, especially the ones from the Butterfly Farm. As for tonight, it would be spring cleaning time after prayers. Then more paperwork for tomorrow, and hopefully some time for blogging.

Cupcakes it was

This week would be the last for Sri Utama before they take a 25 day hiatus for a summer break. With the exams done, it was time to party more or less. My boys have been under the weather, so they will only return to school tomorrow, just in time for the class party.

Mingling home from KLCCFor the kindergarten, the parents were supposed to bring in food for the party as snacks. This year, Anita wanted to bring in some cupcakes, and I had to take her to KLCC. Why? Because she wanted the cakes from KLCC. I don’t argue with her. So off we went …..

It seemed that only the children would get to enjoy those sumptuous cakes unfortunately!

3 weeks to go

Yes, and that was 20 days to go, if you count it that way. After the photowalk with Kam Raslan today, we congregated in KLCC to have some more discussion about the upcoming KLickrs in Urbanscapes, and today we mainly concentrating on the shape of our booth.

The original plan was to have a separate show area for slides as well as have the main exhibition area for photographic activities and other stuffs. We originally wanted to host the photo show in a bus. We would also be on the day, highly dependent on mobile Internet. We just hoped that the weather would be kind, as should it be raining, most of our major plans, or the Urbanscapes itself would be doomed.

The area given to us was actually quite big, measuring 12 by 12 meters. We had to get some help in optimizing the space, a designer of sort. Shafina had some friends of her on board to help out. There was also the matter of budget. Apart from the space and some basic facilities, the organizer was not able to provide much.

My task for the day was to engineer a way of integrating user experience in terms of photo uploads into Facebook. We would be having a mini competitions where uploaded photos would be judged on the number of likes from the public. I would still have to study the idea out as I was still unclear on a few things. Luckily, I have already had a few days off booked up around the time of the show.
