Streetview Coming to Town

Better take cover boys and girls. The Google Streetview was hitting KL and the camera vehicle was on show at Suria this weekend.

It wasn't manned though and not much information about the car. Nothing exceptional apart form the ball-shaped camera protruding up on the roof. And GPS antenna of course.

Fully expecting to see one of those getting stuck in the KL traffic jam for sure. Because otherwise, it won't be real KL!

Packed KLCC

I had some me time earlier and I used it to have a browse at Kinokuniya, and a quick meal. I noticed that the place was packed. Not with locals. But with foreign visitors from the Middle East as well as Indonesia of all places.

The Middle Eastern visitors looked distinctive with the women in long black overcoat and their face covered in niqab, plus their husbands in shorts and sandals. It was a couple of weeks before Ramadan and I was sure they were here for a quick holidays before returning home during the fasting month.

And oh boy, do these lot like to shop?

Got me some Euros

4. 16. That was the exchange rate this afternoon when I went to the money changer. 1 EUR cost me RM 4.16. I must confess that I haven't been doing any homework as fat as the exchange rate was concerned. I went out thisbafternoon since u had some free time, and just went ahead to buy some Euros. Not cheap from the sound of things.

Even the queue at the exchange was painful. Being at KLCC, there were plenty of foreign visitors doing some business and the clerk seemed to be extra careful in scrutinizing the foreign notes. Maybe they had been conned a few times before.

I would be on call tomorrow, so the only time to get organised was Saturday afternoon. Packing and hair cut done. I only wished that I had more time to relax before the long flight.

Looking Forward

After the busy month, with illness and weekend calls, I finally got a relatively free weekend coming up - although they were never completely free in my line of work. So, I was already stating to wind down even in the Friday afternoon.

We went out for dinner after work Friday, with the boys insisting on Chinese. KLCC was where we headed. And oh boy, did the boys love their Chinese food. We actually had to order extra. It was definitely worth the trip.

For the rest of the weekend, I will be joining my photography friends after work on Saturday, for the Scott Kelby Photo Walk. I attended it since 2009, helped organise it in 2010, but could only afford to be a participant forest year and this weekend due to work commitments.

This would be the fifth installment of the walk. In the years past, we were lucky that the weather had always been kind. The forecast for the weekend was not so great however. For the last week, KL had been having heavy downpours in late afternoons. And to make matters worst, there would be an event in the middle of KL town where a few of the main roads would be closed for the afternoon and evening! Traffic going to be a problem.

Therefore, I have decided to park my car at KLCC and take the public transport across. I would need a comfortable shoes then - and of course a full charge on my phone and camera.

For Sunday, I would have to go to Low Yat to make a survey. My Haematology Society was planning to buy a laptop. I did some survey a few months back but I was sure that the prices were already outdated. And it didn't take much of an excuse to convince me to go for another wall there. Strictly business of course.....

Looking forward to a full weekend.

Two Weeks

This must have been the longest hiatus I've taken from updating my blog since its inception. I have been very busy. Three calls in a week, with my two senior colleagues away was taking its toll. Not to mention Euro2012 was hitting up. England was doing Ok, so it could have been worst. They would be playing Italy tomorrow evening though, so the story might change.

Things had been questing down in the last couple of days, and I have had time to rest, getting proper sleep for a change. I would even be able to take the boys out for outings as well.

There was also the small matter of the haze. Luckily, the boys did not have asthma attack, although Idlan did complained about sore throat.

Tonight, I would be taking the boys out for dinner at KLCC, to their favorite Chinese restaurant. I was sure I got more time to blog later, after I sorted out my paperworks and my messy study table.
