Final Week of Ramadhan

Another week to go before Raya and I started to miss it already. In fact, things had been rather quiet with the school holidays staring today, lasting for 2 weeks. I am on call today with an invitation for berbuka in town later.

Hopefully there won’t be much problem for me to get there and back in time. I have cancelled my clinic tomorrow morning and looking at my schedule, the clinics were pretty light next week.

The expected Raya traffic when people were out shoppingI will be away for one whole week during Raya. And with another colleague going on a conference in Europe during the time, we were down to one Haematologist during the Raya weekend.

We will be staying at Bukit Antarabangsa this time around, and of course a short trip to Gombak. Julia will be in Melaka. My Mum will be going to Penang the weekend after Raya to attend my cousin’s wedding, but I would be back to work already by then.

Hopefully the call today would be a quiet one, and I can enjoy a quiet few days before Raya ...

Isetan Lot 10

This place is neat. A piece of Japan in the middle of KL. Bukit Bintang to be specific.

I managed to get home earlier than usual last Tuesday and I decided to ask Anita for an afternoon out. This time it was slightly different. I took her on the new MRT, after sampling it myself for the first time earlier last weekend.

We parked at NU Sentral as I usually do, took the MRT and came out of the station right in front of Lot 10. I told Anita that there had been some major renovations going on there and the new Isetan at Lot 10 had been completely transformed.

Some nice lighting on the top floorThose were killer macarons Time to explore Anita was skeptical at first. But it didn't take long for the place to win her over. The Lower Ground floor where all the food were left the biggest impression on her. I was more into the the "workspace cubicles" on the third floor. They had a nice little care with some really cracking books around there.

Let's start with the food as I felt that the cubicles deserved a separate entry. Most of the items were rules in especially. The cakes were luxurious and really tummy, although very costly. Anita bought to slices and even before we left the store, those had gone through her mouth. They were that good.

There were a number of sushi bars there as well. We didn't try them as we were not sure if they were halal. Plus it was still too early for dinner. We had a good look around. The Waugh beef specially imported in .... those scrumptious cookies and short cakes! Too many temptations.

Really wished that I could spend more time there. Maybe sample a cuisine or two. But not today ... Many more floors to explore ...

New Joint

The renovation had been going on for the past 6 months on this spot on the ground floor of Bangsar Village which had been left vacant for more than a couple of years. There used to be a Ben outlet there which had been closed since.

The space was finally opened last weekend, and Village Grocer had taken up that lot, opening a new gourmet delicatessen. Not yet to the level of Jason's at Bangsar Shopping Centre but there were a few interesting items there. Many healthy options, fresh juice kiosk, salad bar and the likes. Really nice snacks. There were also some roast - ideal should my Dad came to visit. You can take the stuff hole or enjoy it at the deli with a few tables opened.

Not yet time to really look around the place as I was under the weather lately. Definitely would be giving it another look ...

Second Ramadan

It was a Sunday. The plan was to have berbuka at my Sister’s in Kajang. And that was after spending the best part of the afternoon at Viva Home Centre getting stuffs for the new converted bedroom.

At Viva, we spent much of the time at the newly opened SSF Home Furnishings. Certainly there were plenty of neat items to look at. All at reasonable prices. But unfortunately we had problem with the service. At how slow they were.

Anita exploring the crime sceneCarpets ....Cute wagonA pair of these ...And those as well ...Although I was glad to have purchased the items, the way they went about things really slowed us down. We ended up having to rush to Kajang after we were done.

I was still unable to get myself a replacement workbench after the last one was sold away as they were too big. That would mean another hunt next weekend.

Playing snap while waiting for berbukaLuckily with the light traffic in KL, we were able to reach Kajang early, and Anita went to passer ramadan straight after. I was too lazy and tired to follow and decided to hang around the house, catching up on a few episodes on Netflix.

The children appeared to enjoy themselves, but since Irfan had school tomorrow, we had to return early.

It Has Closed

So, the Patchi outlet at Pavilion has closed. I found that out yesterday when I was strolling around the mall. Wanted to restock but was surprised to see that the entrance had been closed off. Looks like a mattress retail shop would be here instead in the future.

After the 30% price hike at the turn of the year, I could see the place losing customers. After all, it was just chocolate. Although a gorgeous one at that. So, we were back to the outlet at BSC. Hopefully that one would still be opened.
