A Different Start

For the first time the boys started a school day at the apartment, and needing to travel - against the traffic mind you - to Gombak for school. Anita woke up extra early, and we got the the boys up for shower at 6.30.

We were bracing ourselves for war, but it turned out that the boys were excited. Idlan even planned to have a nap in the MPV on the way to Sri Utama. Let's see if their enthusiasm held for another couple of days.

Hopefully Irfan would be OK at school. He could pass urine last night without much pain, but at school, it might be a different story. Hopefully no drama …..

Good Luck Imran

It seems that Imran - my nephew - would be the first of my Mum's grandchildren to be taking a major school exams. The UPSR starts tomorrow, and after getting a decent result in the trials, I was sure he would be fine.

I still owe him that birthday present though. Anyhow. Good luck Imran!

Off to the Concert

Early start today. Straight off for ward round, and back to the apartment by 8.30, waiting for the boys to get ready. We were off again by 9.30.

Irfan getting ready

Idlan waiting for his turnThe choir. Not as good as the last years. The concert today was at the same venue as the last couple of years, at the HGH Convention Hall in Sentul. It was easy to get to the place but parking was a pain. We were lucky that we managed to get a spot opposite the gall, but the worry was, we may be double parked.

The boys show should finish by eleven, after which we were planning an early exit ....

Settling in School

When I came back home yesterday, Irfan had plenty to say about his new kindergarten class. It was filled up to the brim and there were 30 students all together. The year was split into two classes by the end of the day, and Irfan had his favourite teacher for this year. He also kept harping on about his new friends.

The parents actually looked more anxious than the children Does this mean that we cannot cross the yellow line?As for Idlan, he was still stuck in a class of 25. Apparently, it would be the same through out the year. Personally, for a private school I felt that the size was too big. Idlan always had a problem concentrating when there were noise around him. He did not complaint however yesterday.

Looked all setTime for me to leave the boys ....Anita could not wait until next year when both the boys would be at school from 8 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. She would get plenty of time for herself. She had been occupied with the boys going back to 2004, and it would be about time that she had some proper time for herself. But knowing her, she would be nosy and continue to worry about her boys.

The Old School

Look at what came through the post the other day? A newsletter from my former high school. It had been almost 20 years, but we still kept in touch about the happenings. The school celebrated its 500 years anniversary 10 years ago, and I still get updates from them every so often.

If I was still in the UK, I probably turn up to some of the events. It was quite interesting that some of my contemporaries there were musicians, a prominent Cardiologist in Oxford and a Commander in the Red Arrow flying squad.

Kinda made me feel that I underachieved then ......
