Starving Saturday

We just realised that the gas bill was overdue at the apartment. That just demonstrates how underutilized the place was. So, no cooking then at the kitchen. The microwave and induction hobs were still working, so, hope was not completely lost.

Being Saturday, there was no chance of getting the service resumed. So, it looked like we would be without gas for the next few days. Sigh!

And as Anita and the boys had to wait for me to finish my clinic, all I us were starving come the afternoon. Surprisingly, the traffic into town was pretty light. We headed out to Pavilion, and ordered some tandoori. It had been a while since I had some. Let's hope that that did the job. We had to find some take-outs for tonight as well ....

The Third Dinner

So, tonight was the third dinner I had for my birthday. And this time it was just me and Puan Anita. She was fasting today, so we went straight to KLCC after I reached home from work and had dinner at Spice of India.

This was followed by a spot I shopping as she needed to get some thick clothes for the boys for this weekend's trip up Fraser's Hill. The worry she had - she always worry - today was her brother having a cough and slight fever. She tended to pick up from him, an her brother had only returned last weekend after being away in Dubai. Getting a cold would really spoil the weekend for her. Hopefully she wouldn't.

It looked like it would e a full week for me next week. After the Fraser's Hill trip, I planned to join my Mum in Sungai Petani and Penang. Then to return to KL in time for the first day of Ramahan. And of course to enjoy the Pasar Ramadhan ..... Give me food .....

Night at an Indian

In the UK, most of the halal restaurants were run by Indians and Pakistani. There were Indian restaurants everywhere that it was often joked that the national food of the UK was curry. Every once in a while, we loved to have du ne'er at Indian restaurant. In fact, my boys, Irfan especially loved Indian food - especially if they came with papadom. One of our favourite was Spice of India in KLCC. However, we noticed lately that the service and the quality of food has deteriorated. We also had an incense last year where thSave & Closee waiters actually served some foreigners before us, and since then he have yet to return.

We were rather apprehensive when we entered the Spice of India branch at Pavilion the others evening. But it turned out better than expected. The service was very good considering that the place was full. Food came fast, the waiters we're efficient, and I must say that the food was better than the branch in KLCC even though the menu was similar. It was a great night out in the end. Irfan had his papadom of course while Idlan reluctantly finished his poori. The cheese in spinach that I had was exquisite and the meat and chicken dishes were tender as expected.

It looked like we probably return here again in the future, but I couldn't really go there'd too often as the meal there were not really cheap. the restaurant also appeared crowded and if the service was slow, I was sure that my boys would be restless. The small dining area also cause some of the fumes to fill the room a times, and luckily we had our inhalers in the ready just in case. The pace between the tables were also rather small. So the restaurant area could have been bigger.

Irfan's Birthday Dinner

It was Irfan's fifth yesterday. I took an unplanned leave sorting out some personal stuffs, and in the evening we went out for a birthday dinner. In the last few days, we have been asking Irfan what he liked to have for a dinner outside and he kept telling us Indian food. He liked his biryani and papadoms of course. So, walla! We went to Spice of India over at KLCC and brought the birthday cake along.

Food was OK but since the place was packed, all the waiters and waitresses were busy and our orders did get mixed up. We sort of like understood what went on, but the table next door thought differently. It wa occupied by an Indian family and judging from the accent, they must be from mainland India. The young lady there really knew how to boss the waitresses around. Such a bitch!

The main thing was Irfan enjoyed himself. The cake came out last, so was the presents. And everybody went home happy! The main party with his friends will be later next week though!
