Up to 10

Finally I had the chance to update my Surface to Windows 10. A much slicked OS on the whole although having only experienced it for the best part of an hour may not reveal all the features in store. And I just hope that both Word and Powerpoint runs well as I do most of my writing on that machine lately. That's the machine which hooks up to my printer in clinic and hopefully I would still be able to print tomorrow!

Otherwise the interface looked more familiar. And I could still switch the Surface into a tablet if I needed to.

I have been hearing great things about Windows 10, so hopefully it stayed true to form ...

Updating

So, the iOS 8.2 update was out tonight. And with that, you would be able to connect the iPhone to the upcoming Apple Watch at the tap of a button. And no, I have yet to own the Watch.

Anita on the other hand had been fascinated by the gold MacBook. Looked slick according to her, until I pointed out that the connections in and out of the thing would be tricky and proprietary. But I supposed she only need the port for charging.

As for the update itself, it was rather a big one. Around 2.2GB on my Mac Pro. I used that instead to save time rather than over the air. Thankfully there was no glitch so far as I would be on call tomorrow.

Up to 7.1

Apparently plenty of people had problem with iOS 7. Personally, I didn't notice as much. Most of the problem seemed to be from legacy apps, which were not updated for the new OS.

Today, Apple announced an update to 7.1. The updating process was painless, 268MB if I wasn't mistaken. No issues and the new OS seemed to be similar to the last one. Or at east I didn't notice the difference.

Maybe I should give it a couple more days to see of there were any upgrades in performance. As long as it didn't kill any of my usual apps, I wouldn't be complaining ...

More Updates

Another and another update for the Nexus 7. This time it was a small increment to version 4.4.2 of Kit Kat. Can't really appreciate what the change was.

Apparently it was more to do with the camera setup for Nexus 5. I hardly use the 7 for picture taking at all. So, can't really tell the difference. At least we knew that Google is innovating.

Mavericks!

Decided to take things easy this morning. Got my rounds and clinic sorted out early and then packed my lunch and headed out to the apartment and just chilled there. Watched a bit of TV, a good movie on Sundance actually.

And the main thing - updated both my iPhone and then MacBook to Mavericks. Painless than I thought and I updated the rest of then iWork suite while I was at it.

Still yet to try the softwares extensively as I was just about to leave for the afternoon rounds. But a couple of thing I realised, Safari felt faster and the Map app looked cool. Not something which I would use daily.

The update also killed a number of my third party apps as well. 1Password was not on by default and I had to migrate all my password to iCloud Keychain. TextExpander was also disabled, but I was sure the updates would be coming soon. Both Aperture and Photoshop seemed to be functioning OK. I would be looking at Keynote later today when I reach home.
