Cosy Little Hotel

I wouldn't call it little, but it certainly was a cosy place. Only had the chance to stay there overnight and the location being right next tot he airport and about 20 minutes away from the centre of Kuching City certainly made it more of a business hotel rather than a holiday one.

Four Points was the name and it was part of the Sheraton/Starwood chain.

Time for room serviceSun shining into the lobby floorThe room I stayed in was a simple one, but it had everything including Internet. Few basic movie channels. Nothing fancy.

I got to order room service when I arrived, and the service was prompt plus the food was actually quite nice. The steak could've been better cooked, but it was ok.

Internet was not the fastest and since there was only a single sports channel - and also a single movie channel - I had to resort to RTM1 to catch the football matches.

Time for breakfast

The breakfast spread was fine. Again the service was prompt and the food was well-prepared. Didn't get to sample the gym nor the swimming pool. The pool being right next to the main cafe where breakfast was served was really a put off.

The lobby however was nice and roomy. It had a few cafe and a bar by the main reception if you wanted to catch the World Cup matches on the big screens.

The hall where we had our talks were spacious. I was able to use my Mac connected to the presentation projector, which was a big plus.

I wouldn't recommend the hotel if you were coming with your family for a visit though due to its location. Hotels in town - Pullman and Hilton - would've been a better choice. It would be nearer to the city attractions and most importantly food. This hotel was mainly for business meetings and conferences.

World Cup at Pyramid

It must have been a good few months since I last visited Sunway Pyramid. I hated the parking system out there and tried to avoid it during peak hours.

Today, I was free by 10.30, and I decided to see what was cooking there. Pretty much the same, except that one of the lobby had a cafe occupying half of its space. A posh one at that.

So, what was the theme? The World Cup obviously. Flags galore but there were no activities going on. Maybe it was still way too early. ‎

Missing Breakfast

Looks like for the coming Ramadan, I would be missing my breakfast place. Both the venue and the company. But surely I would be back with a vengeance after Eid.

Simple Malay food but all the items were very nice... just right next door to the hospital. Unfortunately it only open after 9, and may cause havoc if I needed to start my clinic on time.

The Sky is Blue

The haze which threatened to come looked to have dissipated somewhat, but the heat was still felt. A welcomed changed as I could really smelled the fumes in the air last Monday.

But the relief was thought to be short-lived. With the hot weather predicted during the Ramadan, it might return.

Let's pray that that would be later rather than soon. ‎

Going Through the List

Before my flight to Kuching, Anita handed me a list of what to get. As the schedule was pretty tight, I had to rely on others to take me to the venue to do a bit of shopping. Luckily everybody had the same idea as I did.

Just a single stop in town for kek lapis and salted terubuk. But Anita was glad that I made the stop.

Pick and choose!

One thing that was great about the vendors there was they seemed to have understood that those turning up at their door would be bringing the food items across to Semenanjung on the flight. So, the items were tightly and neatly package into compact boxes. All I had to do was bring it to the airport. I even managed to check the boxes in into the luggage compartment. Great!

Thank God, my boxes turned up in one piece at KLIA ..….
