Free Saturday Afternoon

Spending the weekend at the apartment, we decided to go for an afternoon tea on Saturday after I got home from work. The original plan was for the boys and Anita to spend some time with their schoolmates at the National Science Center, but it was cut short since their friend had to return home early due to his grandfather calling in. So, Anita and the boys left early for me to pick them up.

Since the afternoon was free, we went to Plaza Damas, the usual place for the boys to get their video games and Anita to get her DVDs from the usual dodgy vendor.

This time around, it wasn't just the boys bought games, I did for myself as well. The latest instalment of Diablo was just released on the PS3. Still fresh from the press, I picked one up. Since I was covering for my colleagues who were away on conferences in Thailand, we didn't plan to go out of town and rather just relax at the apartment. Some free time for me to do some gaming then ...... Why not? The boys were occupied on their iPads and PSP. Daddy wanna play!

The Grand Opening

So, my hospital would be having a corporate rebranding exercise next week. The main group would be renamed Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare Group and my hospital would revert to its original name before Some Darby took over more than 5 years back. Back to Subang Jaya Medical Center - SJMC.

Was it a step backwards? Well, on a personal note, I prefer SJMC. When I was still in the UK, SJMC was the premier private hospital here in KL, and since switching the name, may have lost some of its revered reputation. SDMC sounded to generic. Under the same move, SDMC AD would be renamed Ara Damansara Medical Center and SDMC Park City would be called Park City Medical Center.

And this would go live with the grand opening of Park City Medical Center next Tuesday afternoon. Prime Minister Najib - and I would think Datin Rosmah - would be doing the honours. I would be free to attend but of course. My scheduling could be dicey at times.

Let's see what transpires as according to the invitation letter, it would be a whole afternoon affair.

Like a Baws

Felt a lot better this morning although the early night caused me to wake up at 3 in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I ended up updated the blog, surf the net as well as catch up on the news. Nobody to interact with in those ungodly hours of course.

I only managed to doze off at about 4.30, and woke up again a couple of hours after. Feeling fresh, I got through my routine and taken all the meds as well. I was about to go when Anita insisted on me using her driver still.

So, here I was at the back of the car, sitting like a baws. Surfing the net and catching up with the news. The traffic this morning was a lot lighter than expected. I suspected that this was due to parents taking time off with their children having UPSR. Some of the schools were even closed during the exam period. It only took us 30 minutes to reach Subang.

Full day on the cards today but generally speaking Thursdays were pretty light for my schedule. So, onwards .....

Simmering

The fever improved then got worst by the end of the day. It was 38.7 when I settled home earlier and the paracetamol, brufen and tepid sponging helped. Better now. Playing with my boys who were commenting on my wet forehead.

They kept asking me to gobble down the air badak. Tasted like normal H2O. Maybe I was still to feel it's magic. Time to hit the shower soon, and catch up on all things iPhone.

Being Driven In

It was a restless night last night. Not because I fancied the pink iPhone 5C or anything like that. I had a high fever and woke up a few times with coughing fits. Every couple of hours or so, I was up. Myalgia and headache plus all the trimmings. It got better with some vitamin C and brufen, but I had to cross the line this morning. One word. Augmentin.

Not a fab of antibiotics, but I was feeling really rough. The myalgia was so bad that I had to crawl up like a ball, and I have a full list today both at Subang and ParkCity. I can't cancel the clinics as there were plenty of stuffs needing sorting out.

Anita insisted that I use her driver for today. So, here I was, all juiced up from the morning meds - no, I skipped the antihistamines - at the back of the car blogging and catching up with the news.

Hmm! I can get used to this actually ......
