Heavy Downpour

This is the stuff of nightmare during Ramadan. Late afternoon rain and flash flooding. That was what exactly we had this afternoon.

Anita was stuck at Bangsar Village buying groceries and food for berbuka. She was not able to get into the car and had to wait in the mall. When the rain finally let, the traffic were building up. It took her half an hour to get back to the apartment which was only less than a couple of kilometres away. Such was how bad the traffic was.

I was lucky since I was able to get out of the hospital early although I got stuck in heavy rain along the highway. It could have been worse ...

Third Ramadan

First day back to work during Ramadan and to be honest, I was feeling rather tired. Luckily I didn’t have many inpatients and my clinic was only in the afternoon. A long list though, and added to that a meeting which would run until after berbuka once it was done.

I had some time in the morning to sort out some reading and go through some emails. Hopefully the rest of the day would be too taxing as well. Idlan is on his midterm and was still enjoying his sleep.

Happy Monday!

Second Ramadan

It was a Sunday. The plan was to have berbuka at my Sister’s in Kajang. And that was after spending the best part of the afternoon at Viva Home Centre getting stuffs for the new converted bedroom.

At Viva, we spent much of the time at the newly opened SSF Home Furnishings. Certainly there were plenty of neat items to look at. All at reasonable prices. But unfortunately we had problem with the service. At how slow they were.

Anita exploring the crime sceneCarpets ....Cute wagonA pair of these ...And those as well ...Although I was glad to have purchased the items, the way they went about things really slowed us down. We ended up having to rush to Kajang after we were done.

I was still unable to get myself a replacement workbench after the last one was sold away as they were too big. That would mean another hunt next weekend.

Playing snap while waiting for berbukaLuckily with the light traffic in KL, we were able to reach Kajang early, and Anita went to passer ramadan straight after. I was too lazy and tired to follow and decided to hang around the house, catching up on a few episodes on Netflix.

The children appeared to enjoy themselves, but since Irfan had school tomorrow, we had to return early.

First Ramadan

So, the boys completed their fasting for the first Ramadan. Since it was a Saturday, they were at home and Idlan got up well past noon.

We had our berbuka at my in-law's in Gombak, after taking out some food from Al-Rawsha. The original plan was to hit the Pasar Ramadan at Melawati but it was raining heavily when we were driving there. We ended up topping up some food from Taman Melati instead.

But the boys were still hungry by the time we finished eating. Idlan wanted some sushi and we ended up at Burger & Sushi for some extra food on our way home.

For the second day, we plan to head to Kajang and have our berbuka there with my Mum. Hopefully the children would be OK with the food later. Otherwise we had to be creative again ...

Pre-Puasa Treat

Although I arranged to be off for the first couple of days of Puasa, I still decided to do the morning rounds and sort out the Day Care patients. It ended up being a light round, with plenty of time to chill.

And with it, I took the time to have some roti canal for breakfast. Savouring every moment of it.

A quick stop at d7I then spent some time at another office in town doing some paperwork before joining Anita and Irfan in Gombak, in time for the Friday Prayers. After a quick lunch, we went across to fetch Idlan up from school. He had a frisbee session after class today, stopping at McDonald’s on the way home.

Quick a nice way before the start of Ramadan. Not to mention an early dinner with Anita at the tom yam stall. Dynamite! Happy Ramadan everybody!
