Decorations at Pavilion

When it came to festivities, Pavilion was always tops with the decorations. This Hari Raya, it was no exception. The theme was not very clear, but I saw many stars about. And of course some pelita - the traditional Malay lantern.

The decorations started from the Bukit Bintang entrace, leading straight to main lobby. There were stalls there as usual, with a small stage for shows.

I was there on a Sunday, and the place was packed! Luckily I parked at Low Yat - having been doing some shopping there before walking across as the weather was nice. I also get o try my new wode-angle zoom for the CL - a Super-Vario-Elmar.

Apart from the decorations, there were not much happening then. I did not hang around for too long as I had to do more shopping after.

CNY at Suria

The central foyer was packed with decorations. The main stage already taken up half the space while the stalls made walking around rather tricky especially when tourists with selfie sticks came into the equation.

Entering from the fountain

Plenty to see. A kind of mini-BTS type of decorations. A bit of everything but not amounting to much. The area by the big fountain - as customary - had a big tower erected. Hampered by the fact that this would be the Year of the Dog, the mall couldn't erect anything with canine features - for political correctness and reflecting our collective social immaturity really.

The stalls were pretty standard as well. Some jewellery, perfumes, cookies and clothes. They could do without those pop-up stalls actually. Maybe the income from it is inputs rant for the mall.

Quite festive with the loud music and all that. But I couldn't hang around for long. There were plenty needed to be done for the rest of the outing ...

Across to Times Square

The devil is in the details. That was how the saying went. At first glance, the decorations at Bee Jay's Times Square appeared modest and plain. But if you look more closely, it was very well put together with plenty of elements to explore.

Well done!

The foyer appeared very plain with stalls built up to mimic the high street of the old town. But each space were filled up with small little items to reflect the good times of the 60s. Replicas aplenty, from an old saloon to grocery shops, certainly there were plenty to see.

I spent a good half an hour there when I visit just looking at what in display. It happened to be a weekday, hence the place wasn't as packed. There were also some food truck parked outside at the main entrance of the mall, attracting the crime say from the foyer. I had my own sweat time to explore the area.

I have also uploaded a video of the decorations on YouTube if you guys fancy a look.

Deepavali at the Malls

Last weekend, I had the chance to hit the town for a quick walk. It was the weekend after Deepavali and the decorations were still up. It had been a while since I had the chance to go out with my camera and explore.

I was lucky enough to be able to stop at both Suria KLCC and later Pavilion and I just could not resist the chance. It was just too good ....

The one at Suria featured a couple of giant peacocks in the middle of the main foyer. With their long tails and shimmering lights of the main atria, the colours were just great.

The decorations at Pavilion was slightly different. It was more traditional with large kolam filling up the main floor. The other day, they had a dance troupe doing their merry dance there. Quite a spectacle ...

I wished that I had time to explore Nu Sentral which is located right in the heart of Brickfields ....
