Hemmant Trail

*I took this trek back in September 2016 during our holiday at Fraser's Hill*

I went on this trail alone as Anita decided to stay in bed. In was on our final morning in Frasers Hill, and set out before breakfast.

The entrance to the trail was very near Bishop's although it went to the opposite direction. It skirted around the golf course, taking you towards the town center by the mosque as you exit.

I parked my car at one of the shop lots, had some roti canai and teh tarik before making my way around the hill past the entrance to the Bishop's Trail. I then entered the Hemmant trek which were flat for the first half. A really nice relaxing walk before a steep descent towards a valley before going up again towards the exit.

Less challenging compared to Bishop's and much safer as well. Thisnmaybbe good for the beginners, and those with big children. There were hand rails a plenty to help you.

I then exited near the town center, hung around for more photos before climbing up the hill to where my car was parked. All covered within 45 minutes...

Rocking the View

Anita has now gone all out for the balcony after the renovations were done. She bought some furnitures the other day, and expanded her “garden”. Now, I had a new spot to sit at after coming home from work.

Traffic jam downstairsA bit hazy this afternoon ...Nice view of the busy traffic passing by while waiting for the sun to set. It rained a bit earlier and the breeze was fresh. A nice way to unwind after my call last night ....

A Long Morning

The day finally arrived when Irfan had to sit for the interview for the new school. That started off with some essays and aptitude test. After a short break, it was an interview with one of the teachers. Irfan said that it was easy .... Well, we shall see.

He is not due to change school until next September by the way. For the interview, he had to wake up early and follow us along to the school with Idlan on tow. We stayed at the office with Irfan after Idlan started his class, waiting for his name to be called. He looked rather nervous then. In fact, he slept in our room the night before.

While waiting for Irfan to be calledThe school sure had a long history ...Quick breakfast while Irfan was insideWhile he was doing his essay, we went for breakfast wondering what he was going through. It was all done by 11, when I had to make my move back to Subang. He looked quite confident after and enjoyed the rest of the day off at home.

When asked what the exam was about, he said that he was upset that he didn’t know trigonometry. He had not learned it yet in school. Otherwise, the interview was straightforward and he could do the essays. He was looking forward to change school, so hopefully things would fall in place ....

The Joy of Sharing

I had the chance to participate in patient support group activities again last weekend, even though the initial plan was to have it in a park at TTDI, early Sunday morning rain soon put a dampener on things. But in true Malaysian spirit, we went for the obvious choice! We head for Mamak! Luckily there was one about 5 minutes drive from the original venue.

Nothing beats a nice the tarik and roti canai on a cold Sunday morning, and doing it in such company was even greater. Despite my schedule, Sunday morning before my ward round was just perfect timing.

We congregated just before 8, with my session kicking off by 8.30. It was mainly about Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) and the new patients who turned up took the opportunity to find out a bit more about their disease as well as listening to the stories and experience of their fellow sufferers. Great session and I hope that those who turned up on that Sunday morning benefited. And I would definitely do it again if invited.

A one hour session although the participant was not yet done. I bid my goodbye and left for the hospital. I was able to start my rounds by 10 am. Great time keeping!

Jump Street Party

We had a nice Sunday afternoon yesterday attending a party at Jump Street. It was for one of Irfan’s classmate and the boys had a solid couple of hours of jumping and bouncing throughout the place.

With the heavy rain outside, it was certainly a great plan.

The party was taken care of by the venue with a couple of instructors taking the children through their paces as part of the package. They get to experience all the games - plus dodgeball of course - in turns.

Idlan taking a refuel break ....The venue also provided a separate area for parties - where the obligatory sing-song and cake cutting took place. Party food was also provided by the venue and it turned out to be smooth. While the children were bouncing, we got to sit down at their cafe overlooking the whole place. No headache. The children had fun, and certainly not a bad place for parties.
