Reindeer Aplenty

For this year, the theme at BSC was reindeer. But this wasn't any ordinary reindeer. These were girl reindeers. With heels!

I thought those creatures looked too tall when I first theme, and hen looking back from a distance it struck me, they were all females. One of them wearing a tutu. Not sure what that meant! Female power maybe.

But as usual, their Xmas decorations here were pretty creative and amazing. Shame that space was at a premium, hence it wasn't easy to manoeuvre around the lobby where the decorations were. They also spilt over to the sides, making the already narrow walkway even smaller.

Like last year, the view was much better from the upper floor, and certainly there were plenty of details to be spotted. Kudos for the effort ....

Halloween at BSC

It was that time of the year again and certainly around Bangsar, there were plenty of expats family playing along with the celebration.

It was all in great fun although there were parties who took themselves too seriously at times and went on to ben this kind of thing. It was up to them, but certainly quite interesting to browse around at BSC ….

Faeries at BSC

The Xmas decorations went full swing at BSC, and as usual the main foyer at the new wing was transformed - usually into decorated stalls. They pulled it off again this year, and the theme from the looks of things were faeries. They were everywhere, although it was called it Elfland. No, I could not spot any Elves. So can't my boys.

The stalls there sold candles and other festive items. Far too expensive for us to browse to be quite honest. But the ambiance was contagious.

There was a small stage by the fountain for shows, but they were mainly during weekends. I was sure Santa would be there.

We were there for early dinner since I was on call the evening before, and Anita had to do a bit of groceries. We had our meal at Chinoz. Still early and the place was still empty.

Then came the shopping and the boys went wild. Idlan even asked for some macaroons as he could not resist the ones flown in from Belgium. We baught a couple and he finished them straight away as soon as he reached home. Very tasty he said. But I don't think that I could afford many more ....

After the Walk

Time for a quick lunch after the afternoon walking around the KLPF. Will be blogging about that a bit later, but for now would be downloading some of the snaps at the apartment before returning to Gombak later.

Anita and the boys had been busy with the school assignments which meant no outing this weekend. I was also tasked to find dinner for tonight, to get back before the kick-off at 8.30. United playing Leicester away tonight. Hopefully we can chalk up another win to keep the momentum going.

Chinoz, Bangsar Shopping Center

On a recent visit to Mid Valley Gardens, we noticed that the Chinoz Cafe in the middle of one of the main foyer had been closed. That was curious considering the demography of the visitors at that neck of the woods. We were more familiar with their branch at KLCC.

The last time we were at Bangsar Shopping Center, we decided to give the Chinoz branch there a visit. We had light lunch and as usual, the boys wanted pizza.

The seating was outdoors, right by the main entranceA nice place for people watching and chill outIrfan enjoying his fruit punchThe menu was similar to the KLCC branch, with pizza, sushi and the usual choices of salad and drinks. They even offer Sunday Roast, just like at KLCC.

We sat at the outdoor bar area, very cosy and suitable for people watching. Seats were very comfortable. The boys selected the sofas. The waiters were very attentive, and took our order very efficiently without even taking notes. Service was very prompt.

I had rocket salad, and a Japanese rice and salmon set for the mains. The boys had their pizza and Anita ordered smoked salmon and avocado salad. Anita's salad was amazing. The menu was also very clear about which food used alcohol in their preparation. No problems there.

My iced coffeeAnita's gorgeous salmon and avocado salad. Highly recommended.Idlan's hot chocolate in a nice little mug.My rocket saladThe boys, with what else, but pizza.Last but not least, my main, which was sushi rice with salmon and miso. Very nice.

My salad and mains were very well-prepared. I really couldn't complain about the food quality. The service was prompt. I would definitely be returning, not just for the food and service, but for the ambiance as well. Highly recommended, although I suspect the place would be packed in the evening.
