Fever. Allegedly.

Idlan allegedly had a fever. Well, he did reach 40 degrees during late afternoon. He does not usually take naps, but he did so this afternoon. We knew then that something was not right.

After a 3-week break, he returned to school last week. Some of his classmates had been absent throughout the week. It was not a surprise then that he finally had a temperature.

After paracetamol and a nice nap, he woke up, and by the time we were done with Iftar, he and Irfan were up to their usual antics. The lounge was a right mess by the time they were ready to brush their teeth. A stern warning from Grandma soon put them in order!

Braving ourselves for high temperature during the night. At least we would be up for sahur.

Morning Blues

Getting the boys ready for school every morning can be quite a challenge. It was rare not to hear Anita shouting at them before they agree to get ready. This morning, while I was having breakfast with Idlan, he was at it again, staring at his food. As if the sausage would mysteriously teleport into his mouth if he were to do so. Sigh! A lesson for us Daddies not to take the morning chores for granted. For the time being, IDLAN! FINISH YOUR FOOD!

Homework

Children are imaginative, aren't they?

Idlan was given some homework the other day where he had to draw his parents, describing what they do for a living along the way. Initially HR was confused as to how to draw his Mum and Anita was at home all the time, occasionally doing work for my father-in-law. He however thought that she tended to shop all the time ...... and the rest they say was history!

So, Dad is a Doctor, and Mum is a shopper!

Fever was back

It looks like the infection was back. I had been having sore throat for the last couple of days and had been having gouging fits in front of my patients in clinic earlier today. Idlan's fever was back since last night and Anita took him to see our GP friend again earlier. His antibiotics were changed and a sample of blood was taken. Since coming back from clinic, Anita started having a temperature as well. The only one who was well was Irfan, and he has been jumping up and down all day.

We decided to huddle together at home tonight. I will have to get better by tomorrow as I will be teaching the MRCP candidates at Hospital Sg Buloh tomorrow and Sunday. Going to be a long hog that. Idlan was now back to sleep. He looked toxic earlier. If the fever continues, it may be time to take him to Pantai to see his Paediatrician. Apparently the Paediatrician himself was having a fever and had to close his clinic for the day. Hopefully things would settle down by tomorrow.

He is back!

Oh! Dear! He was really back and creating havoc in the front living room. Puan Anita was watching her documentary on William and Kate, and to be honest, was happy to let them run around. Why not. Both of the boys had so much energy to burn.
