Steady Start

The post-holiday commotion was slowly setting in. Meetings and deadline to sort out. Managed to rummage through my home office to get it tidied up, but still plenty needed doing. Will need to shop for some tables and other small stuffs before the weekend.

Idlan and Irfan had been complaining of being bored after all the excitement of the Penang trip. Suffice to say that if they had their way, they would still be there now. But Daddy had to work ...

We also need to do up Idlan's room for a bit. He needs a small TV after we moved his Wii U back to his room. It was previously in Irfan's as the TV was there. Now, both of them had their own rooms, we could spent some time doing a bit of decorating.

Both of them could do with proper study desks, but that would have to wait. I can't afford another Moll table just yet ... not with their school fees due soon.

This morning was a slow one. Started of at Subang and saw my patients there before a quiet breakfast at Bawang Merah - after 6 weeks, missing the nasi lemak. Then another rather quiet and smooth ride to Park City. The two patients scheduled did not turn up. Probably still in their Raya mood. Had time to do a bit of blogging, as I was sure this afternoon would be a busy one. Nothing lined up for lunch - although there was a lunch talk at Subang. Maybe I just check what my boys were up to at the apartment first ...

Late Start

I tried to be early for everything. But I failed miserably this morning. It was really busy and I was hassled left and right. I ended up only able to start my Park City clinic after 11.30. I did check earlier if there were any patients. Unfortunately there was. So, I had to come over, and it was after a quick stop at Ara Damansara. It had been one of those day.

Finally sat down in clinic and now the patient was late. Time to blog I guess as I was too tired to do anything else. Added to this was the fact that I have a meeting after my afternoon clinic today.

Looked like I would be hanging around at the hospital for berbuka.

Big Minus

I love my Monday and Wednesday mornings drive to Park City. A welcomed change from the hustle and bustle of Subang. Things appeared pretty cool over there. Nice scenery. And nice place to chill at the mess.

But the main drawback was the cellphone coverage. They had been abysmal. For all three telcos - trust me, I had SIMs for all three!

My main phone was still on Celcom network. In the last few visits it had failed me big time. Maxis used to be great. I could even get LTE in my clinic room. Lately, it was down to EDGE if I was lucky.

This morning, there was no signal on Celcom. I had to entertain plenty of missed calls the moment the signals kicked in. Sigh!

The hospital management better look into this as the main method of contacting us were still through our cellphones.

No Signals

Trying times this morning when I was doing my clinic over at Park City and the Celcom signals kept coming in and out. As a result, I had tons of missed calls. Realising it, I asked the operator to connect straight to the clinic landline.

Clearly it had made an already stressful weekend even more so. A couple of ICU transfers did not lighten my mood at all. And then the prospect of moving back to Gombak. Next call would be on Wednesday ...

Guess I'd better take things easy and get some rest tonight and tomorrow. Onwards with the clinic!!!!

The Grand Opening

So, my hospital would be having a corporate rebranding exercise next week. The main group would be renamed Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare Group and my hospital would revert to its original name before Some Darby took over more than 5 years back. Back to Subang Jaya Medical Center - SJMC.

Was it a step backwards? Well, on a personal note, I prefer SJMC. When I was still in the UK, SJMC was the premier private hospital here in KL, and since switching the name, may have lost some of its revered reputation. SDMC sounded to generic. Under the same move, SDMC AD would be renamed Ara Damansara Medical Center and SDMC Park City would be called Park City Medical Center.

And this would go live with the grand opening of Park City Medical Center next Tuesday afternoon. Prime Minister Najib - and I would think Datin Rosmah - would be doing the honours. I would be free to attend but of course. My scheduling could be dicey at times.

Let's see what transpires as according to the invitation letter, it would be a whole afternoon affair.
