The Morning After

So, I finally dragged myself out of bed. I have decided to drive in late to avoid the morning traffic. I didn't have any inpatients however, do I could go straight to start the clinic. Which is handy.

The boys were also slow to get out of bed. The delay yesterday during the drive back due to the overturned lorry was taking a toll.

After work today, there would be a small matter of a birthday dinner. Irfan was six today .....

Back in KL

After being held up behind an accident just after Kulai - an overturned lorry blocking both lanes - we finally arrives in Gombak just after 8. Unloading, shower and then dinner, followed by uploading and sorting of my photos from the trip.

All together, I took more than 500 snaps, mostly on the X100. The photos I've uploaded so far on Facebook and blog were taken on the iPhone. Now, I may need to reedit the posts to resize the photos and insert new ones. That would take some doing.

It would be a busy couple of weeks. After going back to work, I will be traveling again on
Saturday. This time, back to my old college - MRSM Terendak - for a session with the students.

Then, on call on Sunday ......

The Morning Has Broken

So, it was finally the morning after. We hardly done any packing last night and the check-out time is 11 am. A long drive back to KL to follow. It had been a nice stay, though the boys as usual were wining a lot. As I mentioned, it would have been better if they had their friends or cousins with them. Maybe, that would be the plan for the future.

Their toys were still strewn all over the place. I had just woken up to stretch my legs. A quick shower coming up soon, followed by a quick walk to 7-Eleven to charge up my toll card for the drive to Tuas.

If everything goes according to plan, we would be leaving after breakfast - a late one as usual - then would be having lunch in Johor. Anita did mention about stopping at a designer outlet in Johor, but not sure if she has the energy - but you'd be surprised how women can always find energy to shop though.

So, finally, bye-bye Marina Bay Sands .....

The Pool is Cool

This place is a blast. In not talking about the food, nor the activities you can get your teeth into, but just the venue. A quick escape from KL by the highway - checked. Nice spacious room - checked. Nice pool with separate area for kids - checked. Kids play room - checked.

So, what more can you ask? More about that later. Let's now concentrate on the positives.

As you arrived at the main lobby, you leave your luggage and then drive your car to the carpark located round the corner - quite far from the main reception area unless you are a VIP. Like anything else in Melaka, VIP get separate treatment re Ali Rostam.

While you're checking in, you were given a fresh towel to clean up and a glass of nice drink to quench your thirst. Argh!

Checking in was straight forward as we had already paid online. The room we got was right on the opposite end of the resort. The honeymoon area I supposed. We should have gone for the villa rather than a standard room. For the price we already paid, the extra wound make much difference.

We were really impressed with the room. It was all timber, with a comfortable bed, a verandah with nice breeze. The tall ceiling with a fan made the room feel cool, and the lighting brought the ceiling window made for an airy feeling. You have a dressing area, a couple of sofa in the room and more seating at the verandah. Once you get into the room, you just wanted to stay indoors and forget about what's going on outside.

But we had to go out, and off the the pool we went. Was it worth the venture out? It was. The pool was real nice. Separate main and wading pool. Nice afternoon breeze on an overcast day. They have small pavilion for you to chill if you just wanted to sit down and nap. We had a whale of a time by the pool and only got out near Maghrib.

Walked back to our room, hit the shower, and then off for dinner.

More about the dinner as unfortunately that was a drag. Suffice to say, the room was excellent. Clearly a lot of effort was put into the built and ambiance. Unfortunately, it lacked a full package to be worth the excess of RM 600 we paid for the stay.

Almost There

We spent all yesterday evening after work to shop rather than pack and now we were behind schedule. I have clinic this morning, so after sorting out the vouchers and bookings, as well as the photography gear, I was out of the house. Puan Anita would be doing the packing, with the help of the boys of course!

I should be able to sort things out by noon, then we would be off for the night at Philea, in Melaka. We decided to break the journey rather than head straight to Singapore as we may only reach there in the middle of the night. We could do with a night chilling out in Melaka as well!

I have heard good things about Philea, so looking forward to a bit of hospitality there as well. And, the place is damn expensive!
