What Concoction?

My aunt was recently diagnosed with a touch of hypertension during her screening for Haj. As a result, her immunisation was delayed and she was told to try some medications. Or else face a delay in her Haj trip or taking medications for life.

So, the next step would be to try all those traditional remedies. This time it was cucumber juice! Minus any sugar!

Bottoms up ...

In Sungai Petani

We went straight to my Aunt's place, just in time for lunch. While there, we received a call from the hotel, informing us that the room for our maid would be on a different floor to ours. Nothing major, just a bit annoying. That did not stop the lunch though.

We scrapped the plan to hit Penang tonight since Idlan looked tired. Dinner would again be at my Aunt's. In fact, Anita and I had already listed what we wanted ...... Some proper Thai food and laksa. That would be smashing. So, Penang would have to wait ....

We just checked into our hotel room, and we decided that we all should take a nap. I had my 15 minutes power nap and now am wide awake. Idlan was still up. Obviously the cough mixture did not do the trick ......

Guilty!

It wouldn't be a trip to Penang without the customary binge on laksa, cendol, nasi kandar and the likes. I was guilty of that, even though the purpose of coming back this time was for the funeral.

We had a late lunch after all was settled. Nasi kandar, cendol, and of course soon to be laksa ...... help!

Back Home

We set off early this morning. We were already in the car by 7.30 and was well on our way by 8am.

Traffic was much lighter than expected, and we reached KL by 11.30 in the morning. We did not take any toilet break. One bit of problem was we had a bit of a problem with the air-conditioning in my car. I thought it needed the compressor fixed. It was well warm by the time I reached KL.

Under four hours seemed to be pretty standard time for Penang KL. This was actually from Sungai Petani rather. I have known people who travel sub three hours, but I would rather not tell you who that was.

So, I reached home much earlier than anticipated. Time to take the boys out for lunch, but unfortunately, I had some lectures I need sorting out during for the coming week. So, probably had to burn the midnight oil tonight.

To Sungai Petani

I am not going to deny that I am rather tired at the moment. After the trip to the butterfly farm, we had lunch at Batu Feringghi, at one of the Indian outlet there. What unique was that the joint actually do fusion of eastern and western food. And they dis not do that badly at all. We has some tandoori and tikka masalla. Yes, it was adjusted to the western palate, but the taste was definitely there. Shame about the price though. It was rather expensive! Comparable to KL rate.

Straight after lunch, we headed back to the hotel. The boys were buzzing for the pool. We obliged and spend more than an hour there. Understandably, Irfan was asleep when we travel to Sungai Petani to visit my Auntie. We planned to have dinner there.

Ikan tiga rasa ...... Nice!Unfortunately, my favorite store was closed and it was currently past 9 pm and my Aunt and Mum were still out ordering dinner. The children were getting restless and tired. It was going to be a horrible night!
